About this listen
Two men. One woman. And a stolen boy longing for the family who loves him.
Peyton Harrison has a secret goal when she arrives in Claywater, Texas—getting back her son, kidnapped as a newborn. The last man she expects to meet is Gabe Harrison, the guy who seduced her and walked away. Her body might want to take up where they left off, but her heart remembers Gabe’s betrayal all too well...and this time, the risk is even greater.
Gabe and Sam always knew they’d share the love of their lives, in their hearts and in their bed. Except Gabe found the perfect woman at the worst possible time. He did the honorable thing and walked away, but now an adult Peyton is in their hometown, her beautiful eyes full of tragic secrets. Sam is knee-deep in a drug investigation threatening Claywater, and Peyton’s arrival is a dangerous distraction. He and Gabe have always stood together, but this time, will the woman they both want be the one that divides them?
One twin left when she needed him most. Now both want her heart, but giving in may cost more than they realize. Anticipating their enemy’s next move is the only way to keep their son safe, but what about their hearts?
Take Me is an M/F/M romance with an HEA for all three main characters.
“Chemistry so thick and heavy it will choke you, heartbreak so intense it will gut you, fear so severe it will take you to your knees.” (Bookworm Betties)

HEAT
The author knows how to bring the heat AND write a suspenseful story. The feelings part of the romance is often reduced to instalove without much seducing–not exactly my favorite, but it’s okay. Because HEAT (see above).
This book wasn’t your usual romance for several reasons. First of all, it’s a menage, which is already pretty uncommon. Here, one woman with two men. Moreover, the men are brothers, and even TWIN brothers. How is it for unusual? Finally, the fact that twin brothers share a woman is a tradition in the heroes’ family–I mean, every generation has twins, and they all live in a menage. It’s an unexpected situation that you have to accept to appreciate the story. And that brings a lot of HEAT (see above above).
As you might guess, the menage situation offers a lot of options on the sexy front. Hence the HEAT (see above above above). But it also affects the romance part. The deep connection between the twins is one of the reasons they fall in love with the same woman, but it induces a few interesting conversations between the brothers. On Peyton’s part, falling in love with two men who are different even though they look the same–not exactly, as Gabe has a scar on his face–is also a challenge. The trio definitely has a lot to deal with.
The inner dynamics in the menage are one thing, but the author doesn’t brush over the way other people see that kind of relationship. In the book’s ideal world, it’s mostly accepted, or at least tolerated, which is kind of frustrating as I’d have liked to read a more critic view of menages. I’m pretty sure it’s different in the real world. But yeah, people have an opinion on the Williamses’ unconventional love.
As for the story at the center of the book, it’s about Peyton and her little boy–who was kidnapped years before–and some drug trafficking in the small town they live in. All the elements of a good suspense story are there: the informers, the investigation, the PI, the mob, some action, some murders, some violence… Both plots are gripping and well done, and mixed with a lot of emotions.
The narration was pretty good. Told in duet style but with three narrators who give a good performance and do well with their assigned characters, the story reaches another level of storytelling. My main complain here is that one of the male narrators was assigned two important characters who had both chapters with their point of view. And since the book is written in third person, it was a bit confusing when this narrator started a chapter–who was he at the time? Still, it’s HOT (see at the top), well written and with interesting characters.

4.5 Blushing Stars
My first read by Ella Sheridan, and one that took a few chapters to hook me in. I thought it was going to be a little cheesy and cliché, and honestly it might have been, but the whole storyline, and the backdrop for the town and the families drew me in, and had me totally in the zone. Any cheesiness was overridden by the whole feel of the story. Told from multiple POVs, it was tense, it was action packed, and it was super sexy. Following Peyton Harrison as she stumbles on a lot more than is safe for her well-being whilst in pursuit to get back her kidnapped son. I got lost in the audiobook. Jason Clarke, Stella Hunter and Connor Crais hooked me in, and kept me entertained throughout, the narration was spot on, it had me blushing in places (okay maybe not, but the potential was there). Action packed and entertaining. I’ll be looking out for more books by Ella Sheridan in the future.

Audio is delicious
I really loved this story - it grabbed me in right away and took me on a ride.
There was mystery, suspense and lots of sexual tension. The story of lost and found love and lost family broke your heart at times. The audio elevated the story and all three narrators brought their A games.
Highly recommend
