About this listen

Narrated by best-selling rom-com duo Erin Mallon and Teddy Hamilton!

Dean is certain that fake dating the cute owner of his new bakery investment could be messy...but messy can be fun.

Norah Donahue wants bakeries, not babies, but her matchmaking mother won't stop trying to play Cupid.

Dean Moser is a cocky stock market savant whose friends are all settling down, leaving Boulder's infamous ladies' man all alone.

When Norah needs a fake date for her parents' anniversary party, her new silent investor is the perfect guy for the job. It seems like a foolproof plan....

That is until Norah decides to break her biggest rule and lock lips with Dean in the middle of the party to spite her meddling mother.

Turns out that Dean and Norah's chemistry is sizzling hot, and mixing business with pleasure could turn out to be a recipe for disaster.

Or maybe they can have their cake and eat it, too.

4.5 Amazing stars

Nobody can dispute the magic that Amy Daws produces when she creates the crazy lives of her characters.

However, Teddy Hamilton and Erin Mallon raise this story to a new level. I laughed out loud a number of times and I've already read the book!

In my opinion this is the best of the Wait With Me series and I can't wait to see what's coming next!

Great story & narration

I had hight expectations for this audiobook and it lived up to all of them.

I was glad to see that Dean will still the loveable, cocky guy that he was in the earlier books and that his personality hadn't changed just because he was the hero this time.

The narration by Teddy Hamilton and Erin Mallon was perfect.

Love it!

From the minute I met Dean Moser in Wait With Me, I have been impatient for his story.

And Ms Daws has not disappointed me with Take A Number.

I seriously loved this book. It is the next day, and I am still smiling about it.

Norah, from her pros and cons list, to the flirtatious Dean, this pair could not be more perfect for each other. The way they tease each other, the UST between them, it just made me need them together even more. They bring out the best in each other, even if they don't really realise they are doing it.

They shouldn't work, but they sure do - even when at times I wanted to bring out my inner Kate and croinut punch Dean. Oy, he really did deserve it I tell you!

The trademark Daws humour shines through (especially when Lynsey and Kate are involved) however I also felt a lot of emotions, and may have shed a couple of tears as I was reading.

From overbearing, matchmaking parents and best friends who think they know what is best, Dean and Norah make their way through the world of fake dating, to maybe, just maybe, find something real

Swoony and sexy and hot and lovely, Take A Number is just wondeful fun and it made me crave cake the whole time I was reading. You won't need to take a number when this book hits the shelves, just buy a copy and indulge yourself.

Mallon and Hamilton are two of my auto-listens. They could sit and read the phone book to me for 10 hours and I would happily listen to every second. They brought Norah and Dean to life.

Amazing

I honestly cannot express how fab Amy’s audio books are! The narrators really do bring the characters to life and I’m sure anyone that’s listened or read the story will agree that Norah and Dean are both exceptional characters!

Dean Moser is a huge flirt and manwhore .....and also a silent investor in Norahs bakery. When Norah needs a ‘no strings’ fake date she turns to Dean with a list of rules to pull off a fake relationship...and well I will leave it there as I don’t want to spoil the story!

Amy has once again delivered a unforgettable story. It has everything you would want in this type of story....Comedy, love, hotness....

I cannot recommend this enough! Amy has been a ‘go to’ author for me for a long time now and I can safely say she won’t be losing that title!

A wonderful rom-com with highly engaging narration

The Narration: Teddy Hamilton and Erin Mallon continue in their role of narrators for the audio versions of the Wait With Me series books.

I give the audio book of TAKE A NUMBER the thumbs up. I first read the book, and thoroughly enjoyed it. The second time around, I listened and found the narration added to the mood of the story and brought it further to life.

Both Hamilton and Mallon did a great job of bringing out the characters’ personalities. The high moments, the low moments, the funny moments all came across in a realistic and heartfelt manner.

I think both narrators convincingly performed all the various characters; I knew immediately which character or side character was speaking. A job well done.

The story:
Amy Daws certainly keeps the good stuff coming with TAKE A NUMBER, book four in the Wait With Me series.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading Dean and Norah’s story. Their story is romantic and sincere. There are plenty of laughs and some deliciously sexy scenes.

Dean and Norah both have their reasons for not wanting to get tied down to another person. They’re content with the status quo but Dean’s friends and Norah’s mother think otherwise. With events coming up that they are required to attend, both need to find partners quickly before the interfering …erm, well-meaning … people in their lives do it for them. And so begins a wonderful fake romance that is full of real attraction between Dean and Norah.

Dean and Norah make a wonderful couple. They are very different personalities, and when they clash, you never know if they will end up in a fight or out-and-out laughter or getting hot and heavy. They are a fun couple I was happy to spend time with.

In all fake romances, where real feelings develop, there comes that time when the characters need to speak up about what happens next. Daws approaches these moments with just the right amount of angst to pull your emotional heartstrings.

Characters from the other books in the series also make an appearance, as does Max, the man who brought Dean and Norah together in the business sense. I hope there are more books in this series and I hope it’s Max’s turn next.

TAKE A NUMBER is a wonderful romantic comedy that I highly recommend.

4.5 Stars

I really enjoyed this. It was a fake dating romance set in a bakery, with a side character from One Moment please. It was cute as heck, funny as all get out and made SUPER hungry. I don't even know what a croinut is but I want one. I don't want this little world to ever end. It's so good every time I visit. I volunteered to read an early copy.It so much funnier (I have no idea how that happened) on audio. Erin Mallon and Teddy Hamilton REALLY bring Nora and Dean to life, and the laughs are many. All opinions are my own 4.5 stars

Gilmore Girl references to start off? I'm a goner!
I've been following this series since Wait With Me and love it.
While this story was not my absolute favorite of the series, I was still captivated and laughing out loud.
Dean and Norah have chemistry since the beginning and when they start their fake relationship there is no way it's not going to backfire on them.
I loved the antics and banter. Amy Daws always knows how to make me LOL.
I love this series!

Dean finally gets his HEA!

Ah another great story from Amy Daws. The fourth book in the "Wait with me" series.

Dean the self made finance guy falls hard for Norah the gorgeous, ambitious baker. After striking out with Kate from Book 1 - Wait with me, and Lynsey from Book 3 - One Moment Please, Dean finally gets his HEA.

It all starts out as two friends helping each other out with keeping up appearances for Noah's family and Dean's friends. Who doesn't love a good fake romance? I certainly do, and all that talk of croinuts (not to be mistaken with cronuts) made me so hungry for pastries. These guys have hot and steamy "fake sex" and I was here for it. Also, I love that Amy didn't write Norah's dreams out of the story so they could be together in the end. Who says a woman can't have her croinuts and eat them too! Dean you were delicious and I loved that this eternal bachelor fell hard. These narrators definitely did this story justice. A great 4.5 stars listen.

I won this audibook in a giveaway by Amy Daws so thank you for gracing my ears with this deliciousness!!

Dean and Norah!

Norah has put her heart and soul into ensuring her bakery is a success and with the help of Dean, a silent investor, she is ready to open a second location. She is focused on her career much to the consternation of her mother who believes that her life’s goal should consist of being a wife and mother.

Dean is a loyal friend and a successful businessman, but he believes that due to his past that love and relationships are not in his future. They both have people in their lives who are determined to become their personal matchmakers so an arrangement where they pretend they are dating seems like the solution to both their problems. What could possibly go wrong?

The banter between them will have you laughing out loud, the chemistry is intense as two people who weren’t looking for love find their perfect match in spite of themselves. The narration of this story was a perfect fit to the characters and it make a great story even better.

A fun and exciting listen that draws you in!

First of all, you can ALWAYS count on Amy Daws to provide a fun and entertaining romantic comedy that will reel you in and have you utterly addicted, and this is exactly what 'Take A Number' did to me! Paired with excellent narrators that fully brought this story to life, you will be completely immersed.

The narration is clear, fun, entertaining and really captures the essence of characters, and it made a great listen whilst being stuck indoors.

The story is about Norah a bakery owner who is branching out into her own franchise. Dean is a silent investor, and for those who have read some of Daws previous books, will have encountered him as the amazing best friend of Kate the erotic romance writer, and Lindsey the therapist who married Dr Dick.

After a string of dating young and seemingly inappropriate females, Deans ‘sister wives’ want to desperately set him up, and ensure that he brings an age-appropriate and approved woman as a guest to Kate’s wedding. But their meddling puts Dean on edge, and he can’t help but become frustrated. He looks to Norah, who he can’t help but watch with fascinated attraction. She is different, innocent and there’s something about her that has him returning to her bakery daily in order to be near her. But Norah is fighting her own matchmaking battle, for her mother is determined to set her up in an attempt to eventually have grandchildren.

Both Dean and Norah entered an arrangement, but will it go as smoothly as they intend? And will it be enough to keep everyone off their backs?

This story was beautiful and had lots of incredibly romantic and passionate scenes. I love Dean as a character and found that as the book went along he became less shallow and had lots of complexity. I found myself relating to him more than beautiful Norah.

Norah is a strong independent female, and she is very inspiring and I loved how well she blended into Dean’s friendship circle, and how he can’t help but be attracted to her natural quirks.

This fictional couple is next level, and I could not get enough. I would highly recommend giving this a listen!
