Summary

A sexy, small town, second-chance romance.

Thanks to a drawn-up-while-drinking-moonshine partnership agreement, Madison Allain has to spend 30 days back on the bayou before she can sell her part of the family business.

And if the heat and humidity and freaking alligators of Louisiana aren’t enough to agitate the cool and in-control California girl, then Owen Landry, the equally hot guy who stole her heart 12 years ago, will sure do the trick.

Owen just has to remember three simple-ish rules: Do not fight with her. Do not fight over her. Do not kiss her. He can do this. He’s charming and friendly for a living after all. But this is Maddie. The only woman to ever shake up this laid-back bayou boy.

Besides, she’s not staying. No way. These people and this town make her crazy. She doesn’t want to be crazy. She definitely does not want to own a swamp boat tour company. She just wants to paint. In her quiet, beautiful, alligators-not-allowed, air-conditioned art studio.

As for that hot bayou boy? Well, he’s...amazing. But he belongs here in the South. And she definitely doesn’t. Even if her heart stays behind when she leaves.

Great series

This is the second book in the Boys of the Bayou series and while it could be read as a stand alone, My Best Friend's Mardi Gras wedding was so much fun that I'd highly recommend starting with that one. I almost skipped this one because I'm not a fan of second chance, but I'm glad I didn't. It was relatively low on drama/angst for a second chance book and high on humor.

I listened to the audio version and both narrators were new to me. I liked the female narrator's regular reading voice and her main female character voice, but I didn't like many of her supporting characters' voices. The male narrator did a lot better with male/female voices.

Sweet Home Louisiana

This is the second book in the Boys of the Bayou series. I really enjoyed this book. This book was about Owen and Maddie. Owen is Josh's cousin and Maddie was Tommy's sister. When Tommy died his portion of the Boys of the Bayou business was given to Maddie. Maddie and Owen had a crazy first love when they were young. Maddie moved to California to get away from the craziness of the Bayou. Now the boys of the Bayou have 30 days to convince Maddie not to sell the family business. I have really enjoyed this series I can't wait for the next book.

But her attraction to Owen is still so strong they can't keep their hands from each other. Will Owen convince her to stay and be happy again? A wild love story

Sweet romance

Book 2 in this sweet romance series gives us another light hearted romance! There is some steamy scenes of course but it’s not overly done. This story reminds us of our roots and what love can do to us!

I’m just loving the Landry men ❤️

Another great listen in this series and I can’t wait for more . This book follows Owen and Maddie who fell for each other in their teens and now 12 years later Maddies back. Maddie thinks 30 days of working withOwen won’t sway her into staying and keeping her share of the business rather than sell to an outsider but she’s in deep and things don’t go exactly the way she planned. Loved that characters from book 1 were in this book as well.

A lot of fun.

More shenanigans down on the Bayou, with Owen and Maddie taking centre stage. This has been a fun listen with lots going on and a second chance romance in the offing! The narrators were good, though I didn't gel completely with either. Mind you, in absolute fairness, they did convey both the chaos of life in Surrey and the feelings of the characters.💖💖💖💖

Book 2 standalone

Second chance romance. I enjoyed this story. I love the characters. When I thought I was close to the end, I was not. The story kept going and held my attention the entire time. The narration was not the greatest for me. I enjoyed Tanner De Bruyne’s narration but Angie Hickman was a little rough at times when trying to do different voices. I definitely recommend this series. 🎧Audiobook Obsession

love maddie's story

the last thing Madison wanted to to was return to Autre Louisiana. sometimes returning to the place you ran away from is all you need to realize it was the place you are supposed to be at all along. I absolutely love this series.

Don’t listen while eating

This had me again crying with laughter while listening to it. I nearly chocked while trying to eat lunch while listening to this one so I declare it a no eating book. However this is a wonderfully written book with some of the most amazing characters they are quirky and different and so loveable.

There is plenty of humour and this made me love it even more, although this couple be considered a standalone why not enjoy the whole series.

Maddie and Owen!

Maddie left Louisiana and her high school fling Owen 12 years ago and had no intention of returning but fate had other plans. After the passing of her brother Autre he left her his shares in the Boys of the Bayou Swamp Boat Tour Company, and she is finding holding them a too painful a reminder of the brother she loved. She wants to sell them but to do that she has to return to her hometown, face her ex-boyfriend Owen and work at the company for 30 days.

Owen is one of the owners of the Bayou Swamp Tour Company as well. He hasn’t forgotten the girl he knew in high school and now that she is back, he wants her to stay in Louisiana where she belongs. He is determined to help her remember the happy times and make new memories but when the 30 days is up will it be enough to convince her to stay or is California where she really belongs?

This is a sweet and sexy second chance romance filled with fun and family. The connection and chemistry between them is stronger than ever and it was fun to have a front row seat to see it unfold. I enjoyed the performance of the narrators as they had you feeling you were right beside the characters in Louisiana.
