About this listen
The New York Times best-selling author of Beautiful Bastard, Beautiful Stranger, and Beautiful Player starts a brand new story of friends, love, and lust with Book One of the Wild Seasons series.
One-night stands are supposed to be with someone convenient, or wickedly persuasive, or regrettable. They aren’t supposed to be with someone like him.
But after a crazy Vegas weekend celebrating her college graduation - and terrified of the future path she knows is a cop-out - Mia Holland makes the wildest decision of her life: follow Ansel Guillaume - her sweet, filthy fling - to France for the summer and just…play.
When feelings begin to develop behind the provocative roles they take on, and their temporary masquerade adventures begin to feel real, Mia will have to decide if she belongs in the life she left because it was all wrong, or in the strange new one that seems worlds away.

Brilliant start to the series!
Any additional comments?
4.5 Stars
I’d tried Lauren’s Beautiful Bastard series just a few weeks before and I hadn’t been as successful with it as I was hoping to (I actually made it to book 2.5, before calling it quits, maybe I’ll come back to it one day). Alas I decided to give Lauren’s Wild Season series a go, and seriously the audiobook was probably one of the best decisions I’d made, as the narrator Shayna Thibodeaux had me hooked from the very beginning. She did Ansel’s French accent perfectly, that I was swooning throughout. Typically I’m really fussy with a woman doing the voice for a guy, but Shayna nailed it!
Also the situation that Ansel and Mia found themselves in was really awkward; they’d only met a few hours before and had woken up the next day married and could only remember bits of the best sex they’d had the night before. But Lauren really made their relationship work for me and make it appear so realistic. I could understand the connection that they had and why they didn’t want to get their marriage annulled. I’m glad that despite not knowing one another, they decided to take a chance with their relationship.
Having visited Paris just last year I adored the days that we were given with Mia exploring her new life out there, it made the traveller in me want to go back and visit as soon as possible. This alongside Mia and Ansel slowly learning to adjust to one another in their lives made Sweet Filthy Boy an addictive read. I was eager for more Mia and Ansel time, their chemistry was off the charts, but I was also scared for what could be around the corner for them. I could see that they were perfect for each other, but how could they make it work? So you could say that little bombshell at the end was a complete shocker to me, it sort of left me reeling.
All in all Sweet Filthy Boy was a truly wonderful read, I honestly can’t wait for more from these two in the rest of the series, as by the end of this book, I was totally in love with Ansel! Readers you do not want to miss out on this gem of a book!

Full five stars
I adore Christina Lauren, and book 1 in The Wild Seasons series has left me desperately wanting for more. It's a story that's been told a thousand times, weekend in Vegas, get drunk and and get married. Yet it doesn't get old. This story is told with passion, and I really felt I could connect with the characters. Mia is a wonderfully deep sexy girl with so many layers. She is shy and reserved. Ansel is compulsive and adventurous, he, for some reason, is the one to bring Mia out of her shell. One small problem. Ansel lives in Paris, Mia lives in America! Ansel is willing to give this marriage a fighting chance, is Mia willing to stay the course and fight for what she wants? Beautifully written with characters I adored, so looks forward to reading more. Full five stars, highly recommend.

So much better than you think
The title is interesting to draw you in but the story and the characters are definitely well written. I wanted to know more about them and enjoy the unravelling of their individual arcs. The sex scenes (of which there were many) were well written and didn't seem over the top - all in keeping with the characters. I would highly recommend for an easy listen on the raunchy side. Can't wait to move to the next in the series.

My least favourite Christina Lauren book
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?
A different narrator and a more emotional & interesting story.
What was most disappointing about Christina Lauren’s story?
There was very little connection between the main characters Ansel and Mia. I was not buying this story, the way they met and the way their relationship played out.
By 50% i was asking where was the filthy boy, he was more sweet than filthy. The characters from Christina's other books are more filthy.
What didn’t you like about Shayna Thibodeaux’s performance?
I found the narrator's voice to be annoying. Too many pauses. The narration did not flow.
What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?
Big disappointment. I really wanted to read this new series.
Any additional comments?
Despite my disappointment in this book, i will try future Christina Lauren books

Not at all what I was expecting, and not in a good way
I’d read autoboyography previously, and really liked it, so I tried this. There is no story. It’s just a repetitive description of whiny self obsessed girl having sex with an opaque bloke. Horribly narrated with lots of irritating quirks. The word ‘hand’ being one of them...and good lord does the word hand come up a lot in this book. Boring, dreadful, nonsense. Avoid.
