Summary
Pimsleur® equals success. Just one 30-minute lesson a day gets you speaking and understanding like no other program. Swahili Phase 1, Units 11-15 build on material taught in prior units. Each lesson provides 30 minutes of spoken language practice, with an introductory conversation, and new vocabulary and structures. Detailed instructions enable you to understand and participate in the conversation. Each lesson contains practice for vocabulary introduced in previous lessons. The emphasis is on pronunciation and comprehension, and on learning to speak Swahili. Reading Lessons begin in Unit 11 and provide you with an introduction to reading Swahili. These lessons are designed to teach you to sound out words with correct pronunciation and accent. A Reading Booklet to be used with the audio lessons is also included in PDF format. Swahili, or Kiswahili, is the most widely-spoken African language, and is used throughout East Africa. It is recognized as an official national language in Uganda, Kenya, and Tanzania. Pimsleur's Swahili teaches Standard Swahili as spoken in and around Nairobi, Kenya.

Outstanding
This is an outstanding language learning tool, far and away the best approach I've found for beginning an unknown language. The method is superb. Of course you will not be "fluent in 30 days", that's marketing drivel, learning any language to a decent standard takes years. But Pimsleur is a VERY powerful way of starting, superbly designed on solid linguistic grounds, and absolutely worth the money. Highly recommended. (I'm posting my review on Units 11-15 because I didn't buy Units 1-10 through Audible, so can't post my review there.)
