About this listen

Should they travel back in time? They know when, but not why. If they stay or if they go, there will be danger!

Two cousins enter the lives of the time-travelling Baxter children. Little do these kids from the rough side of town realize that this encounter will lead them to an extraordinary adventure. Can they escape their problems in the present as they travel back in history? Will they want to come back to an uncertain future?

Janie and Lenny meet the Baxters for the first time at a family gathering. Before long, these two children, living a troubled life in the present, find themselves travelling to the past. The answers to a mystery lie in the past. Can they find the solutions with the aid of the Baxters and a time machine to ease their troubled lives?

Another time travel book to get stuck into

What a great way to travel through time, first by reading the book and then re visiting it as an audio book. I loved both adventures, it was like having my own time machine, just less dangerous. In fact just wow! With the addition of two new characters the author has certainly stepped it up a gear in excitement, adventure and mystery of what is required to help the invisible Lucy but he ties it all up nicely. In this adventure with six people time traveling, we jump to a number of different era's and locations but I love how the author connects them all together and also paints a very vivid picture of what it was like living in those times. With so much going on it never got boring or even confusing. I liked the introduction of the new characters and hope this won't be there only adventure with the Baxter siblings because with there home life troubles it added to the story. I know this book is targeted for a younger age group but I think it should appeal to a much wider audience. I like all the quirky moments, names or situations from history that the author manages to fit into one book. So buckle up and enjoy another adventure through time with a very talented and well researched author. It was also fun that many of the ideas for this book came from meeting a group of children.
With the death of an elderly relative the Baxter siblings discover cousin's in need of there's and Uncle Archie's special help. The time machine known as Big Bessie has all the children traveling backwards in time to help find a better future. Can they help Lenny escape a gang? And Janie from living a life on the streets? In order to do so all the children will have to help people from the past and find the missing artefacts that connects them for the museum which will also help Lucy stay in the present.
I really liked the narrator. She is just as talented but by giving the characters accents even she has stepped up her game with this book.
I will be interesting to see what comes next from both the author and narrator.
