Summary
Orphaned at a young age and raised in the foster system, Jory Smith has no idea he's half incubus. He only knows he has the power to heal people, making himself sick in the process. Exiled hellhound turned bounty hunter Malpheus Pelle has no idea why his human client wants him to track down an incubus. Jory is traumatized and afraid to touch anyone, an emotional handicap that could prove fatal for a demon who requires physical contact. Needing answers, Mal concocts a disastrous plan: pretend to date Jory to uncover the truth. Unfortunately, his plan never included dealing with an ancient demon assassin, Jory's orgasmic pumpkin cookies, or losing his heart to the incubus he's supposed to be hunting....

Really Enjoyed this Book
This isn't my usual genre of books I listen to, but I gave it a chance & I'm so pleased I did.
The story was unusual & kept you guessing. The different characters were good.
The narration was good, even though at times you had to concentrate to figure out which character was speaking, they did sometimes sound the same.
I would recommend it.

Originality
I liked this, for me, original take on the fantastical creatures world. It was great to get to know this story and if I remember corrwctly, a new to me author.
The narration was good and fit the story.

Fun read
Enjoyable story and good narrator. While it IS a self contained story with a proper ending, it very much felt like it should be book 1 of a series. That is still possible, but it's been several years and the author's website is gone… so probably not gonna happen at this point. It's kind of like when you watch the pilot for a good show that never gets picked up - fun but slightly disappointing because it feels like there is a lot more to tell and you know you're not going to get it. That said, there are definitely worse things to say about a book than its annoying there isn't more!
