Summary
A science fiction epic from "the best writer in America" (Tom Clancy) - Hugo and Nebula award-winning author John Varley.
Fleeing Earth after an alien invasion, the human race stands on the threshold of evolution. Their new home is Luna, a moon colony blessed with creature comforts, prolonged lifespans, digital memories, and instant sex changes.
But the people of Luna are bored, restless, suicidal - and so is the computer that monitors their existence....

Decent performance and good story
I did not know of David Stiffell but found his performance to be pretty good with only the odd slip of voices during fast dialogue.
The storytelling is good although not one of Varleys best. Still I enjoyed listening to it.

Great story, more should listen to it
Came across it due to the afterward of one of my favorites author, Alastair Reynolds.
The perspective is quite refreshing, someone in the middle of it all without wanting to be part of the important events happening.
Many interesting questions raised and some thoughtful discussions.
This is definitely more of a journey over the destination and i appreciated it very much.
Loved the sense of humor and the well rounded perspectives.
Great book, great narration.
Not missing much if you read it by itself. It mentions it is book 2 in a series but do not let that discourage you.
