About this listen

Above a kingdom of kink rules an alpha who’s fought for his family since the beginning.

Sterling Holt, owner of kink club The Shepherd, has given all he has to keep his family together. But after years of hard work raising his much-younger sister, his nest is empty - and so is his heart.

Beneath the weight of his own guilt aches an omega who can’t see salvation.

Proud, cocky, and outspoken, on the surface it looks like Adrian Lowe has it all - but beneath his prickly facade lurks something darker. Something painful. Something he can only escape during weekends at The Shepherd.

He will never forgive himself for what he’s lost.

But the lost can be found again.

When one night of scorchingly intense passion binds two lonely souls together, Adrian and Sterling will either have to sever ties and give in to their loneliness, or admit that what they’ve found in each other is worth staying for.

Stay is a BDSM-flavored audiobook set following the events of Obey and Beg. With this much snark, power play, and pain/pleasure, it can be listened to as a standalone, but it’s best served as a sequel.

This is my favourite book of of the series so far. When we first met Adrian in Obey and Beg he was a toughly dislikable young man, but in Stay we get to know his painful story, the guilt he feels around the disappearance of his younger brother Gabriel, the scars he carries due to the mental and emotional abuse at the hands of his family, in particular his mother, who blames him for his brothers disappearance.
Then Sterling comes into his life, the enigmatic owner of The Shepherd and slowly Adrian’s walls begin to crumble.
I love the sexual dynamic between Adrian and Sterling, it is HOT 🔥 and the developing relationship is just what they both need.

Another winner from Piper Scott!

So enjoyed this book!!
So we met Adrian in the first two books, fleeting glances but someone looking for lust and dominance of others. Sterling is the elusive owner of The Shepherd. I would recommend at minimum reading book 2 in the series - Beg - as the MC's from that book are slightly involved in this.
Adrian and Sterling come together when Adrian is trying to sabotage the relationship of Lucian and Marcus (Beg) and he's caught by Sterling, threatened with the revoking of his membership to The Shepherd unless he spends a month with Sterling. They come together with strong words and actions but have to part with the return of Adrian's brother. No matter how stubborn and independent Adrian wishes to be however, he turns to Sterling in his times of need, both for physical relief and support for him and his brother.
I love the world that Piper has created and am truly hoping for another book for Gabriel's HEA. If anyone deserves one it's him.
Sorry, I digress :-) The characters are very well written, as are the supporting cast of Clarrisa and Adrian's family. I would have liked a little more from both, maybe more interaction as a group or at least with both MC's but even as is, it's a wonderful book to read. I truly felt for Adrian and what he went through but also the aftermath and the way he was treated by his family. Gabriel's story is a little harder to take in, with what he went through and the way he continues to think of those involved brought tears. Again, can only hope he gets his chance at a future.
Sterling is such a strong character, supporting Clarissa for so long and now taking on these new people in his life. With such highs and lows throughout the book, I was so happy with how he got his own slice of heaven.
One thing which would be nice, a chance for our previous couples to come together. Seeing how they've all moved on from the way they were when we first encountered them at The Shepherd. Ooooooh and a Clarissa HEA lols :-)
Fantastic from Michael Pauley! For me this has been my favourite to listen to so far. I think he portrays Adrian perfectly with snark, guilt, and a desperate need for love and forgiveness. The close scenes between Sterling and Adrian were hot(!) and perfectly voiced. A story packed with an emotional roller-coaster for our main couple and then Gabriel as well. Eager for his story too!

Best yet for me in this series!

It’s nice to finally get to know Adrian better - I didn’t much care for him in the previous stories but in this book we learn why he is the way he is. From a strange beginning, Sterling and Adrian discover the walls Adrain built around himself, can be pulled down.

As always, Michael Pauley’s narration is 5 star! He brings all the characters to life so beautifully - he’s an Auto listen for me.

Looking forward to Gabriel’s story...I wish him his own HEA!

A great series!

Over all I enjoyed this. There are some great snarky characters and they're pretty sexy in bed too. It was great to continue with the series as these characters were well set up in the previous books but it can be a standalone easily enough

Great snark and sexy
