About this listen
Some describe me as a quirky, free-spirited journalist who charges her crystals by moonlight. They’re not wrong.
My instincts ensure I know everything that goes on in my small town. And not much surprises me. But when the man who destroyed my heart returns to care for his family’s business, I’m shaken to the core.
After our messy breakup, Hayden Shaw swore he’d never come back to Valentine, Texas. Years later, I’m still trying to forget we ever existed. Damn near impossible when he’s now everywhere. A constant reminder of what could have been.
Rumors swirl about his true intentions, but a little gossip has never bothered me. However, if winning over my heart is his endgame, he can hang up his spurs, because I won’t make the same mistake twice—or will I?
Spill the Sweet Tea is a second-chance, hate-to-love-you, grumpy/sunshine contemporary small-town Southern romance with rom-com vibes and a happily ever after.
Each book in the Valentine Texas series is a stand-alone.
Warning: This romance book contains tons of Southern sass, lots of woo-woo, and small-town gossip! Fade to black and cheating are not included.

this is the tea
This is the tea:
This series keeps getting better and better.
I want to be a part of Valentine family so badly.
This is Hayden and Kinsley story. I love a second chance small town romance 😍
Hayden moved away to Houston as he wanted more for himself and family circumstances brought him back, and then he runs into his ex, and their little banter had my laughing and smiling.
I love how much of this was focused around a book store and the mmc writing a book and then she reads and finishes the story.
I also loved how Kinsley was so powered with what she wanted sexual and was confident in asking for what she wanted!!
Aaron and Vanessa narrated this audiobook, and they are honestly becoming one of my favourite duos. Vanessa delivered Kinsleys sassness soo well and Aaron delivered the swooness of Hayden so well.
I can't wait for Harrison story!!!!!

Fantastic Story & Narration🎧 A Heartfelt Delight!
Lyra Parish pens another fabulous romance novel, a wonderfully entertaining second chance small town romance that warms your heart and puts a smile on your face. The story hooked me in right from the start, grabbing my attention and captivating it straight to the end. I adored the characters in this book, especially the two lead characters Kinsley Valentine and Hayden Shaw, who were high school sweethearts. Kinsley did not want to leave Valentine and Hayden ended things with her to pursue a career in the big city, leaving her broken-hearted. She is a journalist working for the local paper and her goal is to have her own column. Her next assignment is to do a feature on the town’s bookstore, the bookstore Hayden’s parent own and run. When she goes to interview them, the last person she wanted to see, Hayden met her, and he was not exactly cooperative either. These two have unresolved issues and they still had feelings for one another and there is still a chemistry between them, but there is pain and animosity, too. I loved how everything played out in this book, the writing, plot and world building are fantastic, as are the character growth and development. There is never a dull moment and there is a perfect balance of drama, angst, humor and wit to lighten things up, some charming moments, heartfelt emotions and steamy romance. Lyra Parish, thank you for another wonderful story and an emotional rollercoaster ride.
🎧📚🎧 And for the fabulous narration, Vanessa Edwin and Aaron Shedlock were the perfect cast to bring these characters to life. They understood the characters they were portraying, gave each a voice that was fitting and believable, sounding just as I imagined the characters would sound. Shedlock was a natural as Hayden, grasping every aspect of his personality, and Edwin did the same for Kinsley. Both were fantastic performing the roles of the secondary characters too. They set the perfect tone for the story, captured all the characters’ emotions and had you feeling every single one. These versatile voice artists are entertaining storytellers and it was a pleasure to listen to them take this already fantastic story to another level. Thank you for another wonderful listen.
