Summary
Only a fool would target the deadliest order of assassins in the galaxy.
The galaxy had no shortage of fools.
Someone had attacked the Order, and done so with both blades and magic. It was utterly unheard of, but even the most elite of killers sometimes faced the unexpected, and on this occasion, that could even mean their demise. That is, unless they could get to the bottom of the nefarious plot.
Joined by a former space pirate and the motley band of misfits crewing his ship, the master assassin set out to lead the rag-tag group to the ends of space, hunting their prey with deadly skill. But sometimes the hunter became the hunted, and tables could turn in an instant.
Kill or be killed, that was the assassin's way. It was an easy choice. That is, unless you found yourself fighting your former lover. That could be awkward. Awkward and deadly.

Space, magic, dragons - favourite universe to date
Another brilliant series by Scott Baron. After devouring the Charlie and Daisy books in a couple of weeks I was so pleased to discover more books set in the same universe.
The Wampah race is fast becoming one of my favourite alien races and to have a set of books dedicated to their Order is brilliant. The combination of sci fi and magic is a brilliant idea and I can’t wait for more books set in this universe.
The books work as a stand alone title if you’ve not read the books featuring Charlie and Bawb - everything you need to know about the magic galaxy is explained. But if you have enjoyed those books then they add an extra depth to the space assassin books.
The books are well read - the only downside is the reader decided to give some of the characters some odd accents - one of the characters has an inexplicable Irish accent. But once you get past that the reading is great and each character has their own ‘voice’ which makes keeping track of who is speaking much easier.

Good world building
I found this a hard one to get engaged with. It had great action scenes and a blending of magic with sci-fi. Yet it was hard to get into it with any hook. Narration wasn’t bad overall. Was able to finish this just did book 1 and received this free for a review.

A good space romp
A good old space romp that took us to many worlds. I personally found the narrator hard going. Especially the regular portrayal of drunk folk!
The story itself was a bit patchy in some parts and overly detailed in others.
Book two was merely a build up to the big fight that was over pretty quickly and still no explanation of the reason behind a betrayal.
But overall, good.
