About this listen

" All these books and stuff, that isn't what it should all be about. What we need is real wizardry."

All is not well within the Unseen University. The endemic politics of the place have ensured that it has finally got what it wished for: the most powerful wizard on the disc - which could mean that the death of all wizardry is at hand. And that the world is going to end, depending on whom you listen to. Unless, of course, one inept wizard can take the University's most precious artefact, the very embodiment of magic itself, and deliver it halfway across the disc to safety.

Tony Robinson perfection

I've listened to several DiscWorld books and Tony Robinson is by far the best narrator of all. The many characters he voices come to life under his narration. Tony and Terry Pratchett's books are a perfect match in Audible.

My Favourite Discworld novel.

My favourite Discworld novel. Very much enjoyed this one. A 10-year-old boy becomes the most powerful magic user on the Discworld; even more powerful than the gods.

Of course, it also has Rincewind and the Luggage.

amazing book

loved the book and the audiobook by Tony Robinson was even better.

seeing the huge world unfold in sections when you read each book makes it an amazing series to read, every child should read these growing up as they are so good and so memorable.

Biased review, because it's one of my favourites.

I love the disc world. though I haven't read even half of the books in the series, the world he creates is excellent. Tony Robinson does an excellent job of glimpsing the listener into that world. I look forward to more of his readings.

Classic Pratchett

This is a lovely Pratchett book. As an early book he hasn't quite got into his stride as the later books but it is still hilarious. Tony Robinson makes it as the narrator. A must for anyone who is a fan of the author, narrator or even games! If you are starting on Pratchett I wouldn't recommend this as your starting one, maybe go for Mort or Interesting Times; which are easier to get going with.

Tony Robinson is so disappointing

I had high hopes for this narration as the previous ones have been brilliant but sadly I've found it to be very disappointing, nothing compared to the previous novels where the narrations were portrayed very well. It seems as though no thought or care has gone into what has been done in previous narrations. Nothing followed on well, even words/places are frustratingly pronounced. I'm only about 90 minutes in and I'm finding it very painful even to continue. I hope TR hasn't narrated anymore as I won't be buying them, TR has really made this into a "turnip".

cut again... why?

yet again, cut from the original book. It really spoils it. Apart from making it cheaper to produce, WHY?
