About this listen
A newborn’s absent face appears on the back of someone else’s head, a filmmaker goes to gruesome lengths to achieve the silence he’s after for his final scene, and a therapist begins, impossibly, to appear in a troubled patient's room late at night. In these stories of doubt, delusion, and paranoia, no belief, no claim to objectivity, is immune to the distortions of human perception. Here, self-deception is a means of justifying our most inhuman impulses—whether we know it or not.

Witty and original tales of curiosity
Although I wasn't completely in love with this book, I found with every chapter that I had to listen on. The performance by the narrator is excellent, as they capture the wit and manner of Evenson's stories really well.
I'd hesitate to call this book a 'horror', even though I acknowledge how subjective that term is. at no point was I scared but Evenson does a really good job at piquing your interest at where his stories are going to go.
