Summary
Rachel White is the consummate good girl. A hard-working attorney at a large Manhattan law firm and a diligent maid of honor to her charmed best friend Darcy, Rachel has always played by all the rules. But that changes the night of her thirtieth birthday when Rachel finally confesses her feelings to Darcy's fiancé, and is both horrified and thrilled to discover that he feels the same way.
As the wedding date draws near, events spiral out of control, and Rachel knows she must make a choice between her heart and conscience. In so doing, she discovers that the lines between right and wrong can be blurry, endings aren't always neat, and sometimes you have to risk everything to be true to yourself.

Believeable characters
This is not a face paced plot with a myriad of twists and turns, but a well written story about a believable main character and her relationships.
I found myself empathetic towards her.

Great story and wonderfully narrated
I saw the film and was curious about the book. I really enjoyed the story, it is well paced and not totally one sided which I liked. The narrator does a fantastic job at portraying all of the characters. An easy listen and would recommend.

OK
Wasnt sure about this one as I'm not really into Chic Lit, Rachel is the downtrodden friend of Darcy who seems to have no problem always bagging everything for herself until one day Rachel finds herself in the arms of Darcy's fiance. Its all about the ongoing friendship of Rachel and Darcy and Rachel looking back over their lifelong friendship and starting to view things differently. I'm sure we can all relate to either Rachel or Darcy in some way and It does lead you into thinking the end wont be how it is and if I'm honest I did feel a bit dissapointed with that.

Minority
As this has been made into a film I am obviously in the minority in disliking it, and perhaps I am wrong to offer criticism as I just could not finish it. It delves into the depths of one persons lack of self esteem being manipulated by a selfish friend, in the guise of a love story.
