About this listen

The heartwarming story from the best-selling novelist, now available in unabridged download.

Caroline Cliburn was to be married next Tuesday, and yet she suspected that gratitude was the wrong reason to become a bride. Perhaps that was why she and her younger brother Jody had taken the long drive north to Scotland in search of her missing brother Angus....

When a sudden spring blizzard leaves them stranded by the roadside, it is the snow that gives both her and a lonely young Scot one last chance to find the healing warmth of love.

Lovely Romance

Great characterisation and lovely story. Beautifully drawn characters set in the snows of deepest Scotland.

Lovely

Heartwarming beautiful and healing. The sort of book that reminds us of values of courtesy,
Resilience, kindness and love and willingness to take risks.
In a word , personal authenticity.

Disappointing story from author whom I normally love.

I was so disappointed with this story. I am a huge Rosamund Pilcher fan, rating some of her books amongst my favourites. However, I found this tale both unbelievable and upsetting. One of the key characters, Oliver, whom Caroline is meant to fall head over heels in love, I found to be rude and abusive. He is a womaniser who states that he won’t marry until he’s too old to do anything else. Lovely! He proceeds to describe Caroline as a child, yet fantasises when he sees her nightdress. He then repeatedly tells Caroline to shut up, calls her little brother stupid (simply because he muddles left and right when rowing), and force feeds Caroline as she sobs with early symptoms of appendicitis!! Frankly, if I were Caroline I would have run a mile, however much I didn’t want to marry Hugh!!
I found this whole story unrealistic, uncomfortable and disappointing. I sadly do not recommend it.
