About this listen
In the international best seller The Power of Habit, Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Charles Duhigg explained why we do what we do. In Smarter Faster Better, he applies the same relentless curiosity, rigorous reporting and rich storytelling to explain how we can get better at the things we do. The result is a groundbreaking exploration of the science of productivity.
A group of data scientists at Google embark on a four-year study of how the best teams function and find that how a group interacts is much more important than who is in the group.
A marine corps general, faced with low morale among recruits, reimagines boot camp - and discovers that instilling a 'bias toward action' can turn even the most directionless teenagers into self-motivating achievers.
The filmmakers behind Disney's Frozen are on the brink of catastrophe - until they shake up their team in just the right way, spurring a creative breakthrough that leads to one of the highest-grossing movies of all time.
What do these people have in common? They know that productivity relies on making certain choices. The way we frame our daily decisions; the big ambitions we embrace and the easy goals we ignore; the cultures we establish as leaders to drive innovation: these are the things that separate the merely busy from the genuinely productive.
At the core of Smarter Faster Better are eight key concepts - from motivation and goal setting to focus and decision making - that explain why some people and companies get so much done. Drawing on the latest findings in neuroscience, psychology and behavioural economics - as well as the experiences of CEOs, educational reformers, four-star generals, airplane pilots and Broadway songwriters - this painstakingly researched book explains that the most productive people, companies and organizations don't merely act differently.
They view the world, and their choices, in profoundly different ways.

a nice compilation
It was more or less a rehashing of ideas I'd already heard. Although not that compelling examples I'll bet I'll use them as conversation starters for future dinners.

Well thought through concepts explained clearly
Some of the concepts in this book may be familiar to some but Charles Duhigg has a way of shining new light on old ideas. He uses stories linked together by the principles he wants to convey, making them very easy to understand. A great follow up to The Power of Habit.

Entertaining and extremely informative
I absolutely loved 'Power of Habit' and I was excited about Ch. Duhigg's next book. I wasn't disappointed at all. 'Smarter, faster, better' is equally good as Duhigg's previous book.
Duhigg is a fantastic story-teller and his book is filled with intriguing stories. He explaines everything very clearly and convincingly and he makes you understand why certain principlies of productivity work the way they work.
This read is a must for everyone interested in the subject of productivity.
I am looking forward to more books from this author.

Useful, practical and very engaging book
I decided to read this book to find ideas on how to become more productive and use my time efficiently at home and at work.
The concepts the book introduced were very insightful and applicable to many areas of my life that I could improve in.
I especially liked how the book summarises in the last chapter how each concept can be used practically and how they all tied together.
The book's delivery of research in a narrative style made it an easy listen and incredibly engaging.
It has definitely changed the way of think most significantly in the area of focus, goal and decision making.
Would definitely recommend to anyone who owns their own business and needs to better manage their time or anyone juggling many commitments (which is probably most of us!)

Not very good
Just tells stories nothing practical or helpful and gets boring really early on. Two more words

A well thought out book
I will certainly be taking away some of the concepts from this book and putting them into practice. I am sure they will help me create a better structure in managing projects. excellent performance and excellent structure.
