About this listen
Endeavor
Since we first looked at the stars, there has been a silence, no signs of alien life, and no one who has tried to speak to us. It is an enigma that a long-dead scientist called the Fermi Paradox.
"Where are they?" A brave crew will take humanity's first starship, Endeavour, on an epic journey that spans light years and centuries to solve this mystery. As Commander Tom Hites and his crew searches amid long-abandoned worlds and ancient relics, the question they seek to answer becomes: "Where are they now?"
Erebus
The sparsely populated moon Io is destroyed in a terrorist attack. Hundreds are dead in the cataclysmic explosion. Thousands become refugees as the shattered remnants of the moon threaten the Jupiter Alliance. Billions throughout the solar system are wondering, "Where next?"
Those responsible must be found and brought to justice. The explorer ship Erebus is reassigned from its mission and sent to Jupiter to investigate this atrocity with Trent's international team onboard. And what Trent discovers among the relics of the alien Sleeping Gods will change humanity's place in the universe forever.

Book 1 was great, 2 is awful. 3 is okay.
Book one was really good, great narration, storyline and style of writing, I wanted it to be longer and it was really well executed (3rd POV) 5 stars
Book two was awful. Switched from 3rd person to 1st, the narrator is easily one of the worst I've ever heard, it make it un-listenable, also it turns into some weird internal military story (I assume, as I didn't get past 1 hour) so I skipped it. 0 Stars
Book three was okay, pretty good. Military-ish, but back to 3rd POV (personally prefer.) It was also performed by one of my favourite (awesome) narrators. 3.5 Stars.
All good for a freebie.

Good story appalling performance
Story good interesting read however the performance is diabolical. His overall voice is fine and works but whenever tries to do any accent it is dreadful. I thought the Scottish accent was bad enough but the Yorkshire accent is horrendous. This guy has clearly never been to UK.
For a book with so many British accents someone else should be reading this out loud.
I have almost given up listening several times because of the accents
Trust me they are hideous and very off putting!

Book two is the best
I didn't like the first book too well. Especially the narrator. it was okay. Some good action and deaths.. Bit confusing at times. But I got there in the end. Did not like the American narrator doing British accents.
Book 2 is connected and explains some of the occurrences of the first story. It's more crime/ space detective book but in a sci-fi setting, which I like, and I like the narrator, Shaun Grindell.
I was expecting book 3 to carry on the story.... but no! it's completely different. It feels like a 1950s war film about dogfighting, ace pilots, Dunkirk in space type thing. I found it a little corny with a complete lack or self referential irony. Again an American narrator doing accents was painful. Still, some good deaths. But not what I was expecting.
I'm glad it was free!

Really enjoyed the first book
The first book was very good. The second book was enjoyable. The third book was not so good. I see that the author was trying different styles, but the third book was just phoning in World War 2 for me. If you just listen to the first book, she walks away, and you will enjoy a hard sci-fi story of exploration.

Loved first book. Second v irritating narrator
I really enjoyed the first book and narrator who has a soothing voice if occasionally dodgy accents. Second narrator, goodness, I literally can’t listen to the constant verge of hysteria. Will buy a hard copy/kindle instead as there is no way I can listen to this.
Most annoying narrator ever.

Only reviewing sleeping gods
Didn’t listen to the third space war thing.
Both Endeavour and Erebus books are good seeds for a great universe, but only half the story is told. I can enjoy an open ending, but both books are more like speculative semi hard sf where a lot of characters just disappear without an explanation.
An ok listen, but I’m glad I didn’t use a credit for them…

Good start, unfortunately goes to ****
First book was actually good. Not bogged down by irrelevant details but moved forward in an interesting and clever way. Narrator good despite Oscar award worthy terrible foreign accents. so bad you grow to like them.
Second book different narrator, different person, first person and not third person like in the first. Boring unoriginal detail driven plot.
Haven't got to third yet. Restarted second book three times and still see no connection and not absorbed in anyway. So far it is just the sort of rubbish I avoid. Oh yes, narrator horrible...

Enjoyable
Enjoyed the 1st 2 books included, fun and interesting story. Didn’t care much for the “bonus book” and ended up giving up on it after 3 hours.

Book 3 is acutally wrong series...
Books one and two are the Sleeping Gods series, but the book 3 is a first in Great Wars series by Ralp Kern (available here as well). And I am not seeing the book 3 available separately either.
Other ways the first two books are actually pretty good. A solid story. The narration can use work - it is rather monotone but serviceable. Worse a listen. Thou I wish I knew where book 3 went...
