About this listen
Viviana Gomez has big plans: graduating college a year early and becoming an ice-skating superstar. In the meantime, she’s coaching young skaters at Lucky Thirteen Academy, the top training facility in Chicago. A distraction comes in the form of Bram Findlay, the arena’s new owner. He’s not only intelligent and charming, but he’s also hotter than Vivi cares to admit.
Whether it’s on the ice or on the L, all roads seem to lead back to Bram and his stupid, perfect smile. She knows she should have a “hands-off” policy at work, but she should also have a gold medal, okay?
Life doesn’t always obey the rules. When a tragic skating accident derails all her carefully laid plans and upends life as she knows it, will her budding relationship fall prey to Vivi’s personal demons?
Will Viviana learn that sometimes even the biggest dreams grow and change? And will it happen before love goes skating by?
Skating By features heavy spice, no cheating, and a guaranteed HEA. There are some scenes featuring disordered eating and implied body dysmorphia.

Captivating and emotional
This is my the first time I have listened to author Ember Larkin and I have to say she has really impressed me with this emotional and steamy story.
Please read the trigger warnings for this books as the female character Viviana goes through some issues that might cause distress.
Truth...This story had many Triggers for me as I have been through some of the issues Viviana was experiencing and I honestly didn't know if I was going to make it through until the end..
But damn it I needed a HEA for Viviana and Bram I need her to get her life and herself back so I carried on listening to this book.
I am so glad I did though because this is a fantastic story that is beautifully written by Ember Larkin and through her writing I felt all the emotion and angst that this tale expressed.
Viviana is a figure skater who teaches skating to get her through school..Bram is the owner of the rink and so he is her new boss.
They are immediately attracted to one another and begin a relationship, I loved them together and the way they are with eachother its like they are meant to be.
But before they can even get started properly Viviana sustains and injury on the ice fractures her ankle and this changes her life forever.
The injury sidelines all her dreams and strains the relationship with Bram not at first Viviana seems to be coping as best as she could.
Will they survive this bump in the road of their new found love...The steam is this book is explosive it is so well written and so HOT.
I really Loved Bram he is the perfect boyfriend and he just loves Viviana so much and I was a little bit angry with Viviana with the way she treated him.
But Viviana went off the rails and having mental illness can turn you into someone else you don't recognise at times and make you say and do things you don't mean.
This book is about a womans fight back from injury and self destruction and the love of a man that is never ending despite what Viviana is going through...he was so loyal.
The narration to this book is magnificent Sadie Provost is excellent telling this story and I really enjoyed listening to her voice.
She really does captivate her audience and she was just briliant at expressing all he emotions needed for this story.... Sadie single handedly performed all the characters male, female, young and old and she nailed them all...she is one talented lady.
Skating By is a wonderful story by Ember Larkin and despite it being difficult at times for me to listen to,which is entirely on me nothing to do with the author...It is just so raw and real...but also has beauty between the pages too.
I LOVED it and it is nothing but a 5 star story and narration for me.
Superb.
