About this listen
You can’t escape the past. When newly elected Sheriff Robert Yates investigates the death of a mine manager found in the ditch by two young Vietnam vets, Yates has no idea what’s brewing under the surface in his quiet, picturesque town. Along with his two deputies, Bonnie James and Peter Thomas, Yates is lead to an abandoned cabin where he finds the body parts of a second victim and clues that open questions pertaining to a stash of lost heist money dating back to the early 1900s. After a third murder of a mine employee, suspicion starts to mount towards the mine owner, John Thomas, Peter’s father, and the revelation of a connection to the Romano crime family.
In this debut novel, entitled Six Bullets, set in the fictional town of Lancaster Falls, Tennessee, Sheriff Robert Yates, Deputy Bonnie James, and Deputy Peter Thomas must thwart the advances of Charlie Rhodes, John Thomas, Romano crime family hit man Cornelius Bennet, and the femme fatale Shawna Ray.

Mystery
I loved the narration of Mark Colt, made this a very enjoyable listen. He brought out the characters and action.
This is an excellent story, it is intense and interesting, full of mystery. Newly elected, Sheriff Robert Yates finds himself investigating the death of a mine manager. Yates and with his two deputies, Bonnie and Peter, they find body parts of a second victim. It looks like these murders to a heist dating back to the early 1900’s.
Plenty of of action and suspense .

Good Story.
This is an excellent story, well written with well developed characters. It moves along at a good pace and is intriguing and edge of the seat listening. The narration is good but it almost seems as if the narrator is trying too hard, a more relaxed narration would be better. Also the use of poor sound effects I found irritating and unnecessary, what was supposed to be a powerful car exhaust sounded more like a cheap petrol lawn mower to me. Despite these small irritations however I'd recommend this book and will look forward to listening to part 2 of the story at some point.
I was kindly given a copy of the book by the author/narrator and leave this honest and unbiased review.

Enjoyable cop story
Very enjoyable story in the small town cop genre. Interesting story and set of characters and entertaining short bursts of sound effects for storms!
