About this listen
Sharon Ransom is the most beautiful woman in the room; she’s also the most troubled. So when former lover psychologist Alex Delaware bumps into her at a lavish LA cocktail party, though still attracted to her, fear of reviving unhappy memories prevents him from offering the help she seems so desperate for.
Hours later, Sharon’s body is discovered with a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Tortured by guilt, Alex wants answers. As his investigation begins, dark memories of his past with Sharon emerge, and a present full of madness, murder and sexual violence unfolds.

The usual Kellerman
I have read a number of Kellerman's books. I have found in the past and did with this book that it starts off at a pace, but labours through the middle and the end is a little disappointing. It is a long listen for your money which is always good, but I lost concentration a number of times as it wasn't interesting or gripping enough. Ok book, but not brilliant or a page turner!

Excellent storytelling
Jonathan Kellerman is always a reliable storyteller but this is one of his best. There is a bit too little if Milo for my liking but other than that, the tale of Alex's old girlfriend and her deeply troubled past is gripping. Jeff Harding is magnificent - gets the voices and the time just right.

Riveting. Twists and turns all the way
Loved it. Not at all what you expect. The sub plot of Alex's life is just as gripping as the main story. Brilliant, bring in book 5.

Gripping
I usually enjoy the Jonathan Kellerman books but find they sometimes drag a little. This one however keeps you invovled throughout! An intriguing storyline wit plots weaving in and out. A great read!

Poorly narrated
I found the narration to be lacking. Having the narrator mimic a woman sounded silly.
