About this listen

Wait for me. Never let me go.

I fell in love with Jackson Moreno in hell, the only two survivors trapped in a catastrophic tunnel collapse. But when rescue comes, I discover he has secrets darker than I could have guessed. He disappears from my life as quickly as he came, and I can’t afford to chase after him when I have to raise my daughter alone.

I fell in love with Jackson Moreno six years later, on a bright summer afternoon, cleaning the lobby of a small-town bank. But he’s still running, and I’m struggling to keep my little family afloat.

I fell in love with Jackson Moreno in three feet of snow, surrounded by garbage and filth, after we lost everything. Because sometimes a tatted bad boy and a shy dad who loves knitting are destined to be together, no matter how many years and miles and memories pull us apart. No matter how many times we have to start over.

If we refuse to be broken, I believe someday we’ll find each other for the last time.

An epic, moving story of second chances and love that defies all odds, featuring a double gay-for-you relationship full of first times, hurt/comfort, a demisexual main character, and mental health representation!

This book contains some mature content related to mental illness and violence. For a full list, see the author's note in the front of the book using the "look inside" feature.

Superb

Another great story by Riley Nash to add to the series. Jackson and Oliver are fantastic characters to get to now and follow. Liam DiCosimo & Wyatt Baker did a super job with the narration.
This book was given to me for free at my request and I provided this voluntary review.

All the emotions with superb narration

I’m so glad I waited to read this until it was available on audiobook because the narrator choices were once again SPECTACULAR for each MC! Though I expected nothing less based on the narration of the first two books in this series.

Once again the storytelling and prose in this book was very poetic and descriptive to the point where you could really feel the same emotions the characters were going through. But man did those time jumps HURT. Every time we would get to a letter Oliver had written I just wanted to curl into a ball and cry 😭 all the “wasted time” they had apart just hits me so hard.

Throughout the book Jackson and Oliver are really just going through it, and I do wish we’d had a little bit more of a “stable & cozy” scene for them at the end. But possibly I just need to read the holiday novella for that.

Heartbreaking

This is a heartbreaking story. It made me sad most of the way through the book hoping for something that might never happen. When Jackson and Oliver survive a tunnel collapse, they find themselves attracted to each other even though they are totally two different type guys. Oliver has a wife and daughter. His marriage is bad and though he is unhappy he is afraid of change for fear of loosing his daughter. Jackson is a bad boy who has never know love. He has no hope for a future. Mostly because of circumstance he lives a life much different than he would have chosen. Jackson is afraid of bringing bad things into Oliver’s life so he runs. Destiny is a big factor with these two. Years later they are reunited but again things don’t work. Jackson is forced to be the bad guy. He even serves time in prison and Oliver is living a much more everyday life. But destiny again finds a way to mess things up. There is a lot of sadness to this story. It caused me to stop and look around and maybe wonder about the people in passing. How many are doing so well or so bad because of circumstances beyond their control. I really enjoyed this story. The narrations by Liam DiCosimo and Wyatt Baker really gave reality to the characters. They fit perfect for them and the story. I would recommend this book and I seldom do that.

Love in the worst case scenario!

Oliver and Jackson met in the most incredible circumstances. It’s a life or death situation and they make the most of it. There’s lots of angst in this romance because Oliver and Jackson are from totally different places and in the aftermath they have to go back to them. Oliver is a sweetie who has a beautiful daughter and loves her so. He is married so there is that. I was really rooting for this couple. The narration was totally on point with enough drama to keep me listening intently.

Wait for me. Never let me go

I was completely captured by this story. It was full of emotions, ups and downs, like a rollercoaster, and I felt a lot of sympathy for the main chracters, Jackson and Oliver, who had to deal with a lot of problems, and even catastrophes sometimes.
We understand from the start that their love story will not be easy at all, since the two men meet for the first time in a tunnel collapse, in which they are the only two survivors. When they get out, Oliver discovers that Jackson hides a dark secret, but he continues believing in him and the fact that they are meant to be together.
Jackson has a difficult past behind him, and struggles to get his head afloat in his world. He keeps running away from Oliver, even though the only thing he would like to do is being by his side.
Oliver keeps running after Jackson, even though he struggles himself with a lot of problems involving his family, and claustrophobia. I sometimes felt the need to hug him to relieve his pain.
Eventually, the two men manage to find their HEA. I listened to the audiobook, therefore I have to give a lots of credits to the narrators too, who gave the right interpretation to the story. Absolutely recommended.

An emotional journey

The narrators did a great job of conveying the characters emotions throughout this sometimes heartbreaking story about two men fated to be together, yet kept apart for so long by circumstance. I enjoyed Show Me Wonders a great deal even when I was on the edge of crying for Ollie and Jackson.

Absolutely brilliant

Everything about this book was perfection. The plot, the narration, the characters, the romance - all of it. 5 stars, chefs kiss.

Ollie and Jackson are the only two survivors of a horrific train accident. Forced to spend time together in the darkness of the wreckage, these two men find comfort in each other. They form a bond that cannot be broken - no matter how much life tries!

They had this immensly powerful connection. They were so entwined, they kept finding each other time and time again. Even in the darkness, without knowing what the other looked like their, their hearts knew what they meant to each other.

Their lives were far from perfect - Ollie was dealing with anxiety that only got worse after the accident and Jackson was running from his past, from a life he was forced into but wanted so much to escape.

Their story is one of hope, of trust, of endearing love and of finding a reason not to stop trying, not to stop hoping and not to stop loving.

Show Me Wonders is beautifully narrated by Liam DiCosimo and Wyatt Baker.

great premise and wonderful performances

I wish I could give 5 stars to this book, because it's my favorite in this series, but I had 2 big issues. Let me start with the positive things:

- I LOVED the premise of their time trapped together after a train crash. It was a perfect way to start the book and it was so well written. I could feel Oliver's despair and Jackson's apathy for his life. I could tell there was more to him than we knew at that point.

- Seconds chances with years before the next encounter? YES! Loved that too.

- The kid, of course. She was adorable, even though we don't see her much.

- the writing is enticing and the story flows smoothly.

Now my big issues (spoilers!)

- the first time they have s*x. There wasn't a real s**ual tension until that point. It kinda happens out of nowhere, especially when we factor in that Oliver is straight and Jackson is ace/demi.

- How is it that they didn't recognize each other sooner?? They met and fell in love in the dark, they should be able to remember their voices. And all of those clues - ginger hair, a similar name, a daughter!!!

As for the narrators: wonderful performances!

Enduring Love

Show Me Wonders is the third book in the Water, Air, Earth, Fire series – it’s the book that represents Earth, and although it is the third book in a series, it stands on its own. However, for those of us who have read the wonderful first two books, there are some familiar faces from book 2.

This story showed the strength of love not only when it is tested by distance, but also when its tested by time and the unknown. Jackson and Oliver meet under the most horrendous circumstances—trapped by a collapsed subway tunnel where they have to face their mortality and hidden desires. But, instead of transitioning into the happy relationship they both desire, circumstances keep them apart yet it takes fate brining them together again. This pull and tug between Jackson and Oliver fighting to stay together but also being pulled apart is heartbreaking. However, the hope is never lost. I knew they were going to get their happy ever ending, but they were going to have to work for it. This made it so worth it. There’s angst, but also so much humor and warmth and love. I loved this book and I’m so glad I got to find out Jackson and Oliver’s story – a story I’ve been wondering about since they were briefly introduced in book 2.

The audiobook was narrated by Liam DiCosimo and Wyatt Baker who did a phenomenal job with their duel narration. They made this book feel even more vibrant and alive with their performance. The emotions for all the characters really came through and I was completely captivated. The audiobook production was well done.
