Summary

To Las Vegas...and beyond!

Becky Brandon (née Bloomwood) is on a major rescue mission! Hollywood was full of surprises, and now she's on a road trip to Las Vegas to help her friends and family.

She's determined to get to the bottom of why her dad has mysteriously disappeared; help her best friend, Suze; and even bond with longtime enemy Alicia Bitch Long-legs (maybe).

As Becky discovers just how much her friends and family need help, she comes up with her biggest, boldest, most brilliant plan yet! So can she save the day just when they need her most?

Becky is setting out to make things right in this laugh-out-loud, feel-good conclusion to her American adventure that began with Shopaholic to the Stars.

Danny has an English accent? Janice is Northern?

I spent most of the time wondering why on earth Janice and Danny have different accents to normal. Bring back Emily Gray please.

Brilliantly Funny as always

What made the experience of listening to Shopaholic to the Rescue the most enjoyable?

Ive read all the previous books but found Clare Corbett's narration excellent and she captured Becky's character very well.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Shopaholic to the Rescue?

The ending, without giving anything away, Becky to the rescue!

What does Clare Corbett bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?

Although I enjoyed reading the previous books, because her narration was so spot on, it brought Becky to life so much more, plus I could carry on doing knitting, gardening etc. whilst being entertained.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

There were moving moments but generally these are light hearted books

Any additional comments?

Although I do like serious books, particularly thrillers, there are times when you just need to listen to something a bit light hearted and Becky Bloomwood certainly gives you this!

Deflation

What did you like best about Shopaholic to the Rescue? What did you like least?

I am an avid Shopaholic Fan and I was so looking forward to this installment. So much so, that I saved it for my forthcoming extended weekend. I enjoyed the previous instalment so thought this book would have the same level of enjoyment. I was so disappointed. The book has a collection of good episodes which are true Shopaholic style however the book felt disjointed. I felt it meandered in parts and I found myself having to re-listen to sections to find the sense. There are good parts to the book but as I neared the end I could feel myself saying thank goodness for that, next book please. I'm not sure if there will be another in the series but if there is being a fan I would try another in terms hope it would be better than this one.

What will your next listen be?

Next listen is Payback by Kimberley Chambers. I know, very different but I need some realism!

What does Clare Corbett bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?

Narrator was good, I thought she brought the book to life. I might have given up if I had just been reading this myself.

Amazing as always

Sophie Kinsella is a fantastic author and I have followed her shopaholic books all the way through. This one was as good as the first and all the others in between! It's a true thrill when a new book from this series comes out.

Not so sure about the reader, she read Becky Bloomwood beautifully, even though it took a while to get used to it, but I wasn't thrilled about how she read the other characters. Sorry just my opinion.

Thanks again Sophie Kinsella another triumph!

Disappointing for shopaholic

I've always loved these books but this one was a little dull, the story line wasn't fantastic and I wasn't hooked
