About this listen
The grisly serial killings of prostitutes and vulnerable women in Victorian Whitechapel, dubbed by the popular press as the work of 'Jack the Ripper', are the talk of London, and from deep within the smog-ridden slums yet another piercing shriek is heard.
Sherlock Holmes and Dr. John H. Watson are drawn into one of the darkest plots ever to shake the foundations of England. There are freemasons, conspiracies and plots at the highest level of the establishment. But for Holmes, there is a uniquely personal element to this new and terrifying case....
This full-cast audio drama is brought to life with eerily engrossing sound design and a brand new, cinematic music score.

A Great Holmes Yarn
Just loved this little cracker.
Difficult to talk about this production without spoilers, suffice it to say if you've heard of the Film along the same lines with Christopher Plummer then you'll know the story plot, but this version has a good number of twists and turns to keep you hooked and guessing throughout your listening.
Nice soundscape and acting throughout. I highly recommend.

A shame zero stars isn't a possibility
Sherlock Holmes is a particularly passion of mine, so I delve into as many attempts to portray him as possible.
This has got to be the worst.
One tell-tale sign is a complete ignorance of what makes the Great Detective tick.
At no point would he (a) deliberately not divulge knowledge in order to make himself appear cleverer and (b) release into the charge of dodgy characters someone who'd come to Baker Street appealing to Holmes for help. Utterly ludicrous.
It makes me pine for the good old days of the BBC Radio 4 Clive Merrison and Michael Williams partnership.
