Summary
Basil Rathbone and Nigel Bruce star in their most widely recognized roles of Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson. After the film versions of The Hound of the Baskervilles and The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes were released in 1939, Rathbone and Bruce reprised their film roles in a radio series, The New Adventures of Sherlock Holmes, which began in October 1939. Now you can download 30 select episodes of the duo in The New Adventures of Sherlock Holmes from the years 1943-1946.

Brilliant
Basil Rathbone & Nigel Bruce as Holmes & Watson - pure heaven. Rathbone is fantastic as Holmes & Bruce, playing a bumbling Watson is also excellent. This has loads of short story Sherlock Holmes stories - some better than others. This is brilliant.

Nostalgic Sherlock Holmes
Great Adventures of Sherlock Holmes starring Basil Rathbone and Nigel Bruce.
The radio shows have been cleaned up to make for a great listening experience for fans of the tv shows.
Although loosely based on Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s Sherlock Holmes, the adventures starring Basil Rathbone and Nigel Bruce have always been my favourite Sherlock Holmes and Doctor Watson.
Great radio shows which include the adverts for the time, mainly Petri Wine, which adds to the nostalgia of listening to these great classics from a bygone era.
