About this listen

From USA Today best-selling Author Cora Kenborn comes a steamy friends-to-enemies-to-lovers story of revenge, redemption, and self-acceptance.

She warned me she'd ruin me.

I should've listened.

Instead, I sacrificed my future for her and then spent seven years hating her for it.

Now a scandalous fall from grace has landed her at my feet.

Under my command.

It's time to unleash the payback I've always craved.

Unfortunately, revenge doesn't taste as sweet as the woman I vowed to destroy.

Change of plans.

I want more than her pain.

I want her everything.

Awesome, moving story

Shallow by Cora Kenborn
Narration by Gregory Salinas and Sarah Puckett.
11/08/21

Wow such a moving book.

Shiloh is the Shallow girl everyone believes her to be at the start of this book. Living on the edge with a don’t get in my attitude as a super model who grew up in a privileged world but it all came tumbling down when she causes the accident that changed everything.

Carrick (or Cary as he now goes by) was the lovesick boy who she squashed and left behind in her hometown far away from her limelight world in LA until fate stepped in and she’s sent back to Myrtle Beach to serve out the remainder of her sentence for killing her best friend in a car accident. And now comes full circle back into Cary’s world.

Cary has paid for his infatuation for Shiloh and he’s looking for revenge but he didn’t realize that people do change.

This book was heartfelt and showed how beauty is more than skin deep. As these two work out the past and find a love again for one another.

Sarah Puckett and Gregory Salinas embodied these characters and had me feeling everything for them. My heart hurt for all both Cary and Shiloh went through and it swelled when they finally found each other again.

Cora Kenborn has an amazing ability to pull one into a story so much that I just leave my world behind when I’m listening to one of her audiobooks. You really need to hear this one.

My Thoughts on Shallow

Wow! Once again, this author has thrown me for a loop with her character development. By the time this story was over I really liked these characters but in the beginning, I honestly didn’t know that I could ever get there. Leading lady Shiloh especially was very unlikable for me. And Carrick aka Cary wasn’t far behind in my opinion. But I knew they wouldn’t be going in. That wasn’t an issue for me at all. I’m actually just insanely impressed that Cora Kenborn made them so very bad, and yet by the end I was rooting for them. As their story and history unfolded the details made them easier to understand and made them more relatable. And while I personally am not a big fan of stories jumping back and forth in the timeline to reveal details of what made them how they are in the present, I really found myself liking this story after it was all said and done. What also made this such a great listen was the narrators. Sarah Puckett and Gregory Salinas are great performers so having them teamed up on this one just made the story all the better.

Redemption is hard!

This is a good story narrated very well by Sarah Puckett and Gregory Salinas. Their skills are in brining the nuances if characters to life and ability to inhabit the different characters. That being said I found the hero's need for revenge continued for much too long, 5o the extent that si became frustrated with him. Taryn was a total witch, but I really did get on board with the awakening and redemption of Shiloh. 💖💖💖💖

Getting a second chance at life

Carsick Kincaid runs a shelter in his hometown but that was not the plan. He wanted more instead he has a criminal record and a lot of resentment. Shiloh West has it all she’s a supermodel living life hard so hard and dangerous she takes a friends life. Now faced with the consequences of her actions she is forced back to her home town to work at Carrick’s shelter. They have history and the resentment is at a high but there was love also. This story is about that second chance at life and love. I cried for, both characters and I shook my head at their stupid actions. Really enjoyed this book

Shallow

Okay this book was really good, at 1st I kinda hated shy, but as the story went on my feelings for her changed. She was on top of the world 🌎. Everyone loved her, wanted to her, wanted what she had. Until that one night where everything changed her life. Bad accident, lost of her best friend and her Career. Almost had to do prison time for what she did , instead she was sent home to her home town to pay out her sentences, and had to work with and old friend that wanted to fuge things up for her. But instead they both fell for each other. I'm just glad she came to her senses and went back to him the one guy that's loved her for her since they were in high school. Even after she did what she did to him. Anyways you guys have to read this book. It's so good.the narrator's did an amazing job too.

WOW!

Absolutely amazing Cora has done it again. Shiloh suits her nickname shallow until everything around her comes crashing down due to her drug and alcohol induced car wreck where she kills her best friend. She ends up serving her community service in her home town under the boy she destroyed when she left . Carsick or Cary as he now likes to be called has devised a plan to destroy Shiloh but the minute he sees her he knows he’s doomed . Cary GF Taryn has other ideas and she’s out to destroy Shiloh no matter what . I love love loved this book and the characters and storyline are fantastic , well except Taryn who’s a grade A b*tch .

Original and Captivating! Fantastic Narration...

I went into Shallow completely blind and was totally surprised, a little wrecked, a little blown away and definitely impressed. It is not your average love story by any stretch, and that is one thing that I so enjoyed about this book. The audiobook was absolutely fantastic. Gregory Salinas and Sarah Puckett poured their hearts into this story and it 100% came through in the narration of this story.

Shiloh has made some bad choices that have some painful impacts on people's lives. Choices that can never be taken back. Now she is back in her hometown with one of the people from her past whose life she changed, and not for the better, and he is now her boss. Cary always had a thing for Shiloh. They were friends in high school, though that friendship maybe looked a little different than a traditional friendship. They ran in different crowds, but there wasn't anything Cary wouldn't do for Shiloh.

Now that they are back and working together their relationship is much different. Time and life has changed both of them. Maybe for better, maybe for worse? Can love be more powerful than revenge?

This story captivated me from the start. It was intense, emotional and heart-breaking. It was also inspirational in terms of human growth and change and being able to love one's self. I loved Cary... he was just everything. Even when he wanted to get revenge, his heart very much pushed him towards love. I loved that two people who had been through so much were able to get a happily ever after and finally heal. I have read many of this author's books and I love how diverse they can be. It is a hallmark of a great author and I cannot wait to read and listen to more from her in the future. #PinkFlamingoProductions #TheFlock

Good Read!

Audiobook review. I went into this book thinking I was going to dislike the heroine but while Shiloh did do some terrible things and was essentially a terrible person at first, I got to really experience her growth. She lived up to her reputation and broke hearts along her journey to self discovery. Cary was bitter and resentful. His actions didn’t endear him to me despite him having his reasons. After digging through the surface though, he eventually warms up some.

The plot is really centered around Shiloh’s perspective and growth. I wasn’t a huge fan of the OW drama but understood how it was used as a device to show tension and create conflict. I loved the secondary characters at the center and how they saw beyond the facade.

Gregory Salinas and Sarah Puckett are absolute professionals at their craft. They brought these characters to life and the quality of sound, from tone and pitch to pace, was on point. I’d definitely listen to more from both the author and narrators.
