About this listen
In the city of Puerto Manada, orphans never get a chance they don’t make for themselves—especially not rare badgerboy orphans, such as the unnamed protagonist. Struggling to even find a little bread to feed himself, he survives by working as a pickpocket for local crime bosses, while his world is ravaged by a war between its two great superpowers. But everything changes when an enigmatic member of the elite wolfmen hands the badgerboy a mysterious package to deliver to a faraway land.
Lured by the promise of answers about his deceased mother—as well as a decent amount of silver—the badgerboy embarks on a daring journey as he runs from thieves, assassins, and the authoritarian government, while traveling on the high seas and fighting his way through monster-filled lairs. Assuming new identities as he crosses some of the biggest battlefields in the world, the badgerboy must continue to hone his magical powers if he wants to survive long enough for the package to reach its destination. Will the orphan fulfill his mission and get his rich reward, or will he get caught and face his doom?
Shadow Agency is a LitRPG story with elements of progression fantasy, fascinating creatures, and nonstop adventure.

A Very good audiobook
This is an adventure story/travel with small litrpg aspects, no long stat sheets but job and skills are important. What is unusual is the world is full of all kinds of beast people which puts a nice spin on things.
The young man going on a trip is something I try to avoid due to teen angst or the pursuit of a girl but this was not an issue in this book. The main character is pragmatic and has a trait that keeps the personal drama to a minimum. This makes the main story exciting and focuses the main character on his task.
I liked that the story was not too dark or brutal, bad stuff happens but not every detail is given yet the listener knows things are dangerous and the world can be harsh.
The story is exciting, goes as a fast pace and there are some good twists and intrigue. I liked the not knowing what was going to happen next and how the story will end.
Cooking is an aspect of this story so listening to this might make you hungry. It also offers a lighter aspect to the story and world.
The narrator does a great job and the main bad guy is marvellous friendly yet menacing.
An enjoyable experience and well worth adding to your library.

One of the best books I’ve listened to for a long time - and I listen to a lot of books!
A really enjoyable story that stands out by being that bit different to the norm in the genre. Awesome MC who has to constantly adapt and overcome in order to succeed, with a great levelling system that the MC has to really work at - nothing comes easy or is given freely.
The story weaves quite the tale with numerous obstacles that are believable and successfully pulls the reader on the MCs rollercoaster journey. The supporting cast of characters are very strong and both the allies and “enemy” support the story well. The narration is also brilliant!
Overall one of the best listens in quite a while - a perfect example of why books/audiobooks are irreplaceable !

Badger Brilliance.
A nicely paced book, well read and well written. I enjoyed the adventure which took you to many locations meeting varied and interesting characters without being too confusing. I'm happily awaiting the next book. There was a nice bit of world building and I found I really felt for the characters. I like the tone of the main badger boy character and found him relatable, he thinks logically and isn't cocky or sarcastic.
