About this listen
After accidentally exposing himself to his son's girlfriend, and realizing that because of his over-hanging stomach, she couldn't actually see anything, Eric Baxter decides it's time he went on a diet. Unfortunately, due to an exercise allergy, and an eating obsession, it isn't going to be as easy as he first thought.
Throw in a battle of wits with his neighbor's cat over toilet rights to his garden, a son who lives in the shed and dreams of being discovered on The X-Factor, a stroppy teenage daughter with a Wayne Rooney fixation, a wife who doesn't want to sleep with him anymore, and an amorous work colleague who does, and you have all the ingredients to Sex, Lies and Chocolate Cakes.

Good tale for a light hearted laugh
If you could sum up Sex, Lies and Chocolate Cakes in three words, what would they be?
Short, but funny.
What did you like best about this story?
It it written in a style that I love - diary! I love the Bridget Jones and Adrian Mole style of writing and comedy in everyday life. Just a normal bloke, living everyday life: wife induced dieting, dealing with teenagers, stalking the cat from next door, avoiding the advances of a work colleague and sexting for the over 40's.
What aspect of Steve White’s performance might you have changed?
This was not the greatest narration. I can't quite put my finger on why, although the attempt at the female voice wasn't quite right. None the less I enjoyed the story, and the funny parts definatley came through in the narration.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
I could have listened to it in one sitting as it is very short, but also, I found it funny enough that I could have done so if I had the time.
Any additional comments?
I need to know what happens next! The story ended in a way that a follow up could easily be done.

Laugh out loud!
This book has something everyone can relate to. We've all done or thought something that Steven Morris has written about or at least know someone who has!
I think all of my family would like this book.
Steve's narration tones can be out of context at times but he manages to highlight the quips

Disappointed
I think I'd have enjoyed this better if I'd have read the book myself. The narrators attempts at accents were off putting and the sound of the pages turning are distracting and unprofessional.
I did finish listening to it but it's few hours of my life I shan't be able to retrieve.
