Some reasonably good ideas around helping with regulation but ABA

Not bad in terms of helping with regulation for sensory issues, but some of it too close to ABA for my liking. Also ableist in some ways and not neuro positive. Autism Speaks research is used in this book, so pretty questionable in my personal view.

Practical advice but not perfect

IMO there are three types of nonfiction books, those that provide theory only, practical advice only and finally one which balances both theory and practical.

This is a Practical only book and again IMO would work better as a read not listen book, the stories are long and not useful unless you are putting them to action and as has been said some of the advice appears to be off point.

Scary suggestions. BEWARE!

Suggesting rewarding kids with food for not stimming is just damn wrong. Setting them up for potential disordered eating. Shockingly bad! I didn’t get further than this part as I was scared to read on! #actuallyautistic
