Invaluable resource for first-time moms

This was a great listen! The author gives so many useful ways of navigating post-partum depression and the general day-to-day life of having a newborn, from verbal affirmations, to mindset shifts, to taking a little time each day for yourself without regret, to recognizing and utilizing your support system of friends and family. The narrator does an equally wonderful job of delivering all the information in a heartfelt and one-on-one manner, as if you're hearing it from a close friend with no judgement. I recently listened to an audiobook on a men's guide to navigating pregnancy and first time fatherhood, and while that book gave great insights into fathers having empathy for what their partner is going through, this book really shows all the ups and downs of what new moms are feeling! As a man who is looking forward to fatherhood in the next 5-10 years, I'll definitely be showing this to my partner when we're ready to conceive. Highly recommended for all future mommies-to-be!

Being a mom is a big adventure!

Im really happy I got this book. It’s like a superhero guide for new moms like me. It tells about changes in the brain that make us patient and good decision-makers. When our babies cry, our brain knows why! Even if we forget things sometimes, it's because our brain is busy changing. So that helped make me more reassured that I’m not going crazy. Hehe… The book also helps us have fun with friends even with the baby. Because life shouldn’t stop being fun just because we’re now mothers. Also, it says eating healthy is important, but treats are okay too. It also comes with a PDF with some pictures that show you how to do some easy exercises, and I found that super helpful . It's like having a friend to help us stay happy and healthy on this journey. Feels more like an adventure :)

Ideas and ways to help my wife

I'm delighted I listened to this book. So much happens around a newborn that it's easy to miss my wife's needs. Of course we both need more sleep but breast feeding and her instinct has her naturally missing more. Would you say your wife's attention towards the baby and her self- care is balanced? That imbalance is what triggered me into action. The author gave me plenty of ideas how to help without the need to even ask.

Finding your balance as a new mom

As a mom with older kids, reading this book was like revisiting a pivotal chapter of my life that I remember vividly and still hold close to my heart. The author acknowledges the challenges that come with motherhood, and reviewing those challenges brought me back. The overwhelming sense of responsibility, the sleepless nights, and the constant emotional rollercoaster were all too familiar.

Back when I was a new mom, there was not a lot of emphasis on self-care. The author has done a great job of addressing self-care and mindfulness during the chaotic phase of being a new mom. I remember feeling like I had lost a piece of myself with the demands of caring for a newborn. The book shares practical tips on incorporating mindfulness into daily routines and it felt like a breath of fresh air for me. I reflected on how different my motherhood journey could have been if I had known about these techniques and their importance back then.

The author really nailed it when she focused on banishing mom guilt. Mom guilt is real and the number one way we push our needs and wants away because we feel guilty. For me, I finally had booked myself a massage and my oldest is now 17 and I almost cancelled the appt because of the guilt.

I enjoy everything this book has to offer from the information to the mindfulness exercises, self-care activities and affirmations. This all-in-one book is amazing for all moms.

A so important guide!

A wonderful supportive guide for first-time moms. This book helps with many of the unique challenges early motherhood.

Lots of focus on self-care, which is so important, exercise, and mindfulness all based on personal experiences. This book also includes many additional resources and bonus to help support.
