About this listen
Kate is fresh out of a divorce. She's been betrayed, hurt and neglected. She needs a job and a place to live. What she doesn't want or need is a man to mess with her determination and independence.
Austin's a bear shifter who's come to terms with a life of solidarity. He has close friends and his bar to keep him company.
The two collide for the first time when Kate goes to the bar for a night out with the girls. Austin sees his mate - the love he's been waiting a lifetime for. Kate sees another man who has the power to hurt her.
When her ex-husband attacks them, can they work together against him? Can Kate fight her eternal battle against the love that Austin offers? Will Austin push her too far too fast?

Story
3.5 Overall
I really enjoyed the characters in this story and I also like the story itself. It was a great quick read, BUT What.The.Heck...they talk so much about the mating bond and then they didn't even "show" the ceremony. It ended with Kate telling Austin she was ready for it, and that was it.
I waited the whole two hours to finally hear that happen and then it didn't. That totally killed the whole thing for me.
I felt like I had been having a good convo with someone and they just turned around and left in the middle of it without saying anything else.
Overall though, if not hearing the mating ceremony won't bother you, its a perfect short read. Great story, fun characters and a good narrator.

Bear
I enjoyed listening to the narration of Beth Roeg. Beth bought the characters and plot together and to life..
Kate is on with het friends and she not looking to involved with any men as she is going through a divorce and was really hurting. Het Ex was a real nasty piece of work.
Austin sees Kate and realises Kate is his fated mate and that as a human, she didn't know about shifter customs. Adam is a Bear Shifter.

Short and sweet
A little over 2 hours, this audiobook is short and sweet. It has a little of everything and plenty of shifter romance. It has the sexy, fierce protectiveness that one expects from paranormal romances. Kate, on the verge of divorcing her awful but rich husband, encounters bear shifter Austin at a bar. She is abandoned there by her friends and Austin, recognising her as his mate, looks after her. Her husband tries to retaliate but ofcourse Austin stands for none of that.
Beth Roeg does a good job performing this book. She has a clear way of narrating that is very easy to listen to.
