About this listen

A child goes missing, taken from her mother by a powerful family. Soon after, the father of the girl is banished for violating the code of the tiny Cornish hideaway.

Emma Thorne has come to the edge, not knowing if her daughter is alive or dead. The village offers no clues and gives away no secrets. In desperation, she enlists the help of a local private investigator, holding out hope that Lauren can be found.

But the investigator Jake Stevenson knows how to find missing people. He’s done it before, traveling to places beyond our understanding. But where can he begin his search, and what clues can the village of Towan Point offer him?

In an ancient lighthouse, cut off from the outside world, a doorway pulses gently in the darkness. A doorway that no one comes out of.

What lurks on the other side? And can he discover the secrets beneath the sea?

Secrets

I enjoyed listening to Kevin E Green, his narration was perfect for this book. His bought the characters to life. This is the final book in a series. This book and plot , will keep you hoping the good over comes. We have love, magic, Vampires , giants and Demons a missing child. Good versus bad. Great characters , different realms , twists and turns. This book will keep you wanting to listen.

Secrets Beneath the Sea

When real life and fantasy cross over you end up with a wonderful tale of goodness and evil, heartwarming and beautifully narrated. Pop away to another world and enjoy the great art of when excellent writing meets a narrator skillfully taking you to another place and back again. I loved it.

Excellent

Sad as this is the last in a brilliant series. Over the moon as it was fab!
Jake is back out on the trail of a young girl who has disappeared. He’s off to the lands and the evils that wait there for him. But it’s not all bad and the whole world just gets me lost, in a good way.
The details as you move through the story is excellent.
The narrator was good, though I wasn’t expecting Jake to sound this way, in my head he was different, as he should be! But the flow was great and the menace was there as the characters appeared.

The End!!

I was fortunate enough to be able to listen to this book courtesy of a very good FB group I subscribe to (thanks again) I had not read any previous books by the author and only found out after finishing that it’s the last in a series of 4, I really enjoyed listening to this book, it’s quite a tale and has many highs and lows (emotionally and thrillingly) sadly I am now going to have to listen in reverse order to the previous books as I have to know what else happened

Break on through to the other side!

Book four in the series. Can be picked up as a standalone. Or as part of the series. Nice to see Jake back helping people again. I think we all need a Jake in our life's. This story was quite gripping. I was on the edge of my seat. Thinking oh no what's going to happen now. But I think this was a perfect way to end this series. It will be nice to see what the author has in store next for us. Watch this space!

Now to start the series

As you can probably tell from my review title, "Secrets beneath the Sea" was the first book I read/ listened to of the Forsaken series. I was really lucky to be offered the opportunity to listen to this book courtesy of a Facebook group for audio books.

I loved the premise of the story, with its mix of fantasy and adventure, and twists and turns and now that I know the end of the Forsaken series and how the story ends I need to go back understand how Jakes adventures begin!

I wasn't a huge fan of the narrators style however, and it took me some time to jell with the story and certain characters. I do think this is just me, as other reviews are very positive of the narrator. By the end of the story, I knew I wanted to read the series, and I have downloaded book 1 on the kindle so I can start with a clean slate.
Overall a fantastic story and highly recommend to readers /listeners who love fantasy and adventure novels.
