About this listen
“10 years ago, he ruined my life. Now, I will ruin his son.”
Shane. Ex-con. No-good bastard. Scum.
Rosen. Trust fund boy. Virgin. Sucker.
Shane is straight out of prison, and has one goal only - to wreck everything dear to the man who put him behind bars. And number one on that list is Rosen, Ed Beck’s son. Shane’s plan is to incriminate the boy, but when the dreamy blue eyes meet his, Shane can think of a hundred other ways to ruin Rosen right under his father’s nose.
If Rosen’s dad is to pay for his art degree, Ros has to stay on the straight and narrow. Join a fraternity, avoid scandal, and keep his sexuality under wraps. Seems easy enough until he meets Shane, a bad boy from the wrong side of the tracks. All sanity goes out the window, and the slippery slope leads Rosen down a path of violence, blackmail, and passion too sizzling to be denied.
Shane thinks he’s in control, that Rosen is just a means to an end, a tool to be manipulated. But as a love he’d never even dreamed of becomes real, he’s starting to realize he doesn’t have to be the "scum" society’s been telling him he is.
Shane now stands at a crossroads, between Rosen and revenge.

Drugs, death and vengeance
Drugs, death and vengeance
An ex-con seeking vengeance thinks he can get revenge through Rosen, a virgin and son of the guy who took ten years of Shane's life.
Good start to a new series narrated by Wyatt Baker, who does a sterling job narrating this book. However, I did speed up to 1.25 on audible like usual.

So Good
Scum is the first book in the Wrong Side of the Tracks series, and oh my goodness was it delicious and wonderful. I love dark romances with twisted and flawed characters, and Scum does not disappoint. Shane and Ros are perfect for each other, even when they do things that are completely messed up--yet somehow it works. Their love is intense, even nasty at times, but at the end, they are utterly perfect for each other. I love how possessive and protective Shane becomes of Ros, and how Ros becomes utterly loyal and devoted to Shane.
The audiobook was narrated by Wyatt Baker who does a fantastic job. I love Wyatt's voice and he really brings all the characters to life with a great performance. I was instantly enthralled with the story and could hardly put it down.

Terrible
I was surprised by how bad the writing was for this book. I've read a few K.A Merikan books before, and they were great but this is just trash. The dialogue is cheesy as hell and i have no idea what was going on with Wyatt Bakers narration. He was cringy bad... Movie trailer guy bad. This story wasn't the slightest bit sexy.
