Summary
The definitive account of the Scrum methodology from its cocreator and the CEO of Scrum, Inc., Jeff Sutherland.
Scrum is the revolutionary approach to project management and team building that has helped to transform everything from software companies to the US military to health care in major American hospitals. In this major new book, its originator, Jeff Sutherland, explains precisely and step by step how it operates - and how it can be made to work for anyone, anywhere.
Take the FBI's attempt to digitize its records, for example. As with so many software projects, the first attempt failed, having taken four years and cost over $400 million. Then the FBI turned to Scrum and, just over a year later, unveiled a functioning system that cost less than a tenth of the first project and employed a tenth of the staff.
And it's not just grand projects that Scrum can help with. Every organisation, whatever its size, constantly has to come to grips with delivering a product or service on time and on budget. Scrum shows you how. It explains how to define precisely what it is that you are seeking to achieve, how to set up the team to achieve it, and how to monitor progress until the project is successfully completed.
Filled with practical examples drawn from all types of organisations, it will make you rethink the fundamentals of successful management - and show you how to get things done however everyday or ambitious, however small or large your organisation.

New to Scrum but WOW!
I've spent years wondering if work could improve and whether I can continue in my industry if it can't. I took a punt and went for this audio book. What a difference this has made, the book was well written, with valid case studies and narration that kept me interested. I've listened to the book twice now and completed the Scrum Master course.
I'm yet to put my learnings into practice but it's still early days.

Eye Opener
As a seasoned Project Manager I found this book inspiring and helpful especially in communication skills of topics that people tend to avoid like when there are schedule delays or budget overruns. Highly recommend this book.

Enjoyable and practical
Simple, jargon free, and something I intend to practice within the workplace.
I am now looking for a companion audible book that builds upon Scrum to help me become a great Scrum Master.

Great application beyond just software
I've been looking into SCRUM for a while and considering taking a course. This book has sold it to me. Loads of real-life examples beyond just the traditional IT and software development that I'm used to.
It does miss on quite a few application tips and detailed how-tos for some of the applications beyond software, however, you can take that as a challenge to apply and learn yourself.
All in all, I thoroughly enjoyed the book and would definitely recommend

Essential reading to help teams enjoy their work
The narration was engaging! The book is demonstrating that results and an ethical workplace culture are not contradictory goals - quite to the contrary. Liked the back-up by studies and science - great examples. Essential reading for inspiration and direction - however the journey to empower teams and establish this mindset in larger organisations is in reality a long and tough path..but the important thing is to get started.

Great story telling.
I read an inflamatory review of this book telling that it is too self indulging. At times it feels like the scrum will solve world hunger, find a cure for all diseases and make every human clever. But in general this book is full of examples why scrum works and why when done properly it will make your job more enjoyable. JJ Sutherland narrating is great and the supporting stories very engaging.

Engaging Read
Really enjoyable and informative. This is not a how to book but rather gives examples from the author experience on how the methodology developed and the thoughts and reasoning behind them. It made me question how I could work more effectively and deliver my projects more efficiently
