About this listen

Adam Harris’s name has just appeared on a top secret list of extraterrestrial origin. Unbeknownst to him, he’s one of a handful of individuals capable of implementing a Save Point, a static moment in time he’s able to revisit over and over upon death.

It’s a good thing, too. Brain cancer was turning into a real drag....

The government owns the list though, and they’ve wasted no time snapping him up. According to them, he has 13 days in an alien realm to learn as much as he can before the inevitable, at which point his memories, skill progressions, and weapon proficiencies will endure despite his body resetting.

Then it’s rinse and repeat.

But there are unwritten rules to the game he’s about to play, and unseen forces acting in judgment.

Adam will have to learn the hard way that dying is the easiest thing he’s going to do today.

Time to make something up

26 years old Adam Harris has only weeks to live: with a stage 4 brain tumour he'd retreated from the rest of the world - until kidnapped by agents to take part in a bizarre alien game to save humanity.
Full of immaginative, curious creatures, action and respawning, all told in the first person by Adam himself. Good, gory fun.

Narration was by Will M Watt, and Soundbooth Theatre - the main reason I selected this title as they always provide an excellent listening experience. This was no exception with the main narrator performing well with a pleasant on the ear voice and a good understanding of, and involvement in, the text, and occasional background sound effects. The only irritation was the awful Irish accent of Annie Elliccott performing Sabine.

My thanks to the rights holder of Save Point, who, at my request via Audiobook Boom, freely gifted me with a complimentary copy. Fun, silly, action filled story, well performed and recommended to readers who enjoy 'out manned, out gunned' gamer stories.

Gripping from the start

The amount of sheer detail the author has put into this book. Just take the intro for example, the amount of detail put into describing his thoughts as he listened to the door being knocked then eventually broken down. I was hooked from the start. I dont like giving too much away in my reviews in case I spoil things so won't say any more story wise.

I Love LitRPGs, it's probably my favourite genre these days, and this is up there with some of my favourites now! Can't wait to listen to the other books in the series.

Kudos to the narrators - fantastic job well done, and the addition of sound effects really helped with immersion.

This book was given to me for free at my request and I provided this voluntary review.

Narration and then some!

This was my first litRPG novel, I'm not a big gamer so wasn't sure what to expect, but I found it engaging and fun.
I like sci-fi, so thought I'd give it a listen and found myself pretty absorbed within a short space of time.

I really enjoyed the use of light sound effects throughout the narration. It added an extra element to draw you further into the story. The narrator was easy too listen to, and had a good handle on the text. The extra voices played from the other two narrators were great, not a full blown audio drama, but close enough for such a long runtime.

I received a copy free in agreement of an honest review.

Good read

A fun ride with a good and foreshadowed twist at the end. I'll be picking up the sequel.

great book!

I really felt like I was there when listening to this book! The main character is one of those smart ass guys you can't help but root for. Looking forward to book 2

Middle of the road.

It’s not a bad book, it just didn’t do anything for me. Found it hard going and at no point did I get into it but I think that’s more a case of the book wasn’t what I was hoping it would be.

Anyway give it try.

Horrible

I cant stress enough how arrogant, useless and idiotic the mc is. He does everything without thinking, doesnt listen to key info and is just bad at everything. I tried so hard to continue reading but I just cant continue, the mc runs the story

kinda boring

It was a good enough story but I felt like I was waiting the entire time for a power up moment that never came. also "speed was of the essence" was a a weird line 🤣

I would listen to the next book if I had a free credit but not worth another £7 in my opinion.i haven't come across a single lit rpg as good as the two week curse sadly.
