About this listen
Savannah Law, a novel. A young law professor's obsession with a female student and a politically charged, media-frenzy criminal trial that pits the nation's most successful criminal trial lawyer against Savannah prosecutors, provide the backdrop for Savannah Law. The intense drama - both inside and outside the courtroom - builds to an unexpected climax in an unforgettable final chapter. Savannah Law is filled with colorful but believable characters, including a few cantankerous law professors, who demonstrate their vanity and eccentricities at the weekly faculty meetings. The novel will appeal to anyone who enjoys a legal thriller or Southern novel.

Politicians stuff ballots, prosecutors ...
stuff witnesses."
A superbly written book which had this reader gripped from the very beginning.
Set around the college campus of a law school, we are introduced to numerous characters, all well developed, but in particular Jennifer, a newbie just starting at the rapidly growing in status Savannah Law School and Scott, a senior close to leaving, already entrusted with conducting small legal cases. But this isn't solely about a single legal battle and the nefarious goings on behind scenes to win a courtroom battle, though that is there, too, but also about the politics behind the election of a new Dean of the college, the history of the area and the school in particular, the residents and their backgrounds and a stalking of unpleasant proportions. It is full of interesting, sometimes funny, anecdotes and trivia facts which make for a fully rounded picture of place and characters. In some ways slow moving, it is quite rivetting overall with unexpected twists which surprise the protagonists as much as the reader. Conversation is so natural, this book really feels like a window into a real life campus.
This is completely reinforced by narrator, Bob Johnson. His delivery is that of a gentle storyteller, his voice perfectly matched to the book. Excellent.
A story based in 2006, superficially easy going but with sharks swimming beneath the surface. A wonderful book. I was fortunate in being gifted a complimentary copy of Savannah Law, at my request, by the rights holder via Audiobook Boom, without any expectations in return. Thank you so much. It is a fully rounded jewel of a book and, as such, highly recommended.
