About this listen

The story of the woman from South Shields who took up comedy aged 29 and who has become in only five years, the most successful comedian in the UK. This fascinating story is both funny and inspiring. Now touring to sold out shows and with her own TV show, Sarah's story has the most unlikely origins and proves how adversity can prove to be the starting point to better things.

So disappointed!

Any additional comments?

This was my fault. I should have read that it was a BIOGRAPHY and not an AUTObiography and that's really the problem. I had already bought a couple of other autobiographies and saw her picture and just knew I'd love to hear her story..... however....

The writing style is that of a TV documentary and the narration is terrible - too fast and again a bit like a documentary. I'm not a huge fan of biographies anyway, you never really know what you're getting as it's the writer's POV, not the subject's. I particularly enjoy hearing the person reading it too, it makes it all the more interesting.

I'm not sure I made it more than 10-15 minutes in before I gave up.

What I was really looking forward to was Sarah's own voice and her style of speaking. This wasn't it.
