Hot guys and excitement
This is my first Makenna Jameson story and it won’t be my last. The Seal team were hot and alpha, the heroine was strong and intelligent, the kids were adorable! Great story with a bit of excitement, I prefer a bit more of a drawn out suspense but it was a good start to the series.

A lovely story about finding love after loss.
This story had me engaged from the very start. Rebecca and Patrick had both suffered considerable heartache and loss. I enjoyed their sexy story towards a happy family ever after. Although my preference is dual narration, Sophie James did an excellent job of voicing all characters.

A good start to a Seal Romance series!
Patrick and Rebecca's story is very sweet and in some ways accurate. Both being single parents, the notion of a new partner is a lot more complex. The child or children have to be a part of the process and the two families need to get along. I liked the way Makenna Jameison handled the children and the emotions in this book. Perhaps at some points it was a little much but not in a way that detracted from the basic plot.
I also liked how the other seal team characters were introduced. I hope some of them will feature in the other books in the series. It is always nice to revisit with the same characters and understand how their stories progress beyond th limits of the book dedicated to them.
Overall enjoyable and a good start to the series!

Second chances
We all like to think there are second chances in life. Patrick, a Navy seal, and father had a failed marriage and his ex-wife later died. Now, still in the military, he has to raise his son alone. One night when he was home, he stopped to help a woman change her tire. Little did he know years later that this woman would be his future. Rebecca is a lawyer with a young daughter. Now looking for a no strings attached relationship, she once again bumps into Patrick. But can these two really be casual? Now deployed and Rebecca in danger, Patrick has to make decisions. Will he make it back in time? I love romantic suspense and military romances, and Makenna Jameison gives me both with this book. It's steamy and fun, has a hint of suspense, but what I really love about it is the realistic relationship between Patrick and Rebecca. These two could be anyone we know. They are flawed, scared and unsure of what they want in the future. It's how they handle it all and the results that make me love them! Plus the interactions with the other Navy Seals gives us a glimpse of what there is to come, and it's going to be amazing!
Sophie James has a great voice for narration, and I loved her performance of this story. She brings a variety of voices to the table and keeps consistent with the use of them. She finds the personality of the character and uses the nuances of her voice to give it that emotional push. Always a pleasure to listen to her.

Seals + Sex = Yummy
This first book in the Alpha Seals series was a great introduction. I really enjoyed the storyline about how two widows end up getting a second chance at love. The two main characters have a lot of parallels of their lives: they are both parents, they both lost their spouse, and they both have high stress careers. When danger threatens Rebecca and her daughter, Nick has to do something drastic to keep them safe. The narrator was new to me and she did a good job of voicing both characters.

Wow
The author really packed a lot of hard to deal with topics into this one book and she did a fantastic job of dealing with them with the respect that they deserve. I loved that the families had to learn how this new dynamic would work and that they were also dealing with deployment and danger at home. Really well written and handled.
