About this listen

Rook the Ruthless is one of the bastard triplets of the king. In vengeance against the father who ordered them killed as babies, he now lives in hiding in the catacombs, working with his small army and brother to raid the king. But when Lady Calliope stumbles into his lair with only kindness and light in her heart, he starts to question his dark ways. Can a ruthless man who lives amongst the dead be brought back to the light by a woman full of life before it's too late?

A good listen

Rook is one of triplet bastards of the king, who has vowed vengeance against the king. He does not want to kill the king, just make his life as miserable as he can. He feels betrayed by the oldest triplet, who has married, declared allegience to the king, and has been knighted. Calliope secretly tries to help right the wrongs her uncle has done to the villagers. I did enjoy reading this book but not as much as the first book I think it might be because rook is a bit selfish and cold to begin with he does open up and gives to the serfs but he has to be told by calliope at the start.

Ruthless Knight (Legendary Bastards of the Crown)

This was most exciting, hearing the wonderful words written by Elizabeth Rose. The story of a triplet with hatred for his biological father and his first born brother finds life doesn't have to remain in hatred. With the help of his friend a monk, the village people and a lovely young woman he meets by chance his life changes. The characters are well developed and very strong. I enjoyed reading the book but it came alive in the Audible. Highly recommend this story.

Ruthless Knight

‘‘Tis book is excellent and the battle between the triplets and the King whose bastard son’s they are. This son Rook lived in the catacombs of an old monastery where he had been for over 10 years. He had made the place his home, opulent and comfortable with goods that he stole from his Father, the King. The narrator told the story excellently and it was very enjoyable to hear it being read. It was wonderful to see how love conquered all, despite earlier bad blood. Thank you Miss Rose for writing this book.

Another really good story

I loved this 2nd book of the Legendary Bastards of the Crown series. I couldn't stop listening. The narrator was very good accept in the love scenes. But this book is definitely worth a credit. Before book 1 and book 2 there is a prequel which is a must read/ listen.
Now on to the next one, Reeds story.

Rook

Rook lives in the catacombs of a beneath the ruins of a priory destroyed by the Scots years before, and is known as Rook the Ruthless. Rook meets Calliope as she makes her way back to her uncle’s castle through the catacombs where he makes his home. He is wounded and she helps him. Callie convinces Rook to help the villagers whom her uncle neglects and abuses. The conclusion to this one is full of twists, turns, and surprises. The king is determined to make peace with all three of his sons. Will Rook come to terms with king and reconcile with his brothers? Once again Elizabeth Rose gives us a well-written story with strong complex characters and a solid plot with challenges, suspense, and romance. Entertaining narration by Brian J. Gill. I love the way he performs the characters’ voices.
