Summary
Princess Rozala of Denbourg enjoys her reputation as a wild child, especially when it annoys her father, the king. When Rosa's latest girlfriend brings scandal to the palace doors, her father sends her to Britain, in the hopes that time with her cousin Queen George and the new Queen Consort will finally make her face her responsibilities.
After overcoming personal demons and quitting the high-stakes world of finance, Lennox King is content with keeping her life simple. As the new director of a hospice charity, she uses a strict business approach to help the charity grow and prosper.
When Rosa comes to work at the charity under orders from the Queen Consort, babysitting a spoiled princess is definitely not on Lennox's agenda. But when passion flares between them, will Lennox's past stop their relationship in its tracks, or will a twist of fate bring a new future that neither was expecting?

Good sequel
I enjoyed listening to this book but missed Bea's London accent and Cam's Scottish accent from the first book which added to the character's so not everyone spoke in cut-glass English. I liked how new characters were introduced alongside the familiar characters from the first book.

Pushed boundary of believability a tad
The narration is very good for this audiobook. The story was okay. I found the believability a bit hard to accept at times, and didn't really take to the the characters that well, as its hard to identify with either of them. The Rosa character worked well, I felt the Lennox's past was a bit overplayed, and really from plot perspective I felt a bit underwhelmed as the threat from Rose's ex did not seem immediate. There needed to be more foreshadowing leading to the later event with Rosa's father. But many liked this, so it could just be it wasn't for me.
A great alternative to this - The Princess Affair, by Nell Stark which I think does a better job of allowing the reader *(listener) to identify with the pauper as well as experiencing divide between Royal and peasant more effectively.

Should have briefed the narrator
Overall I enjoyed this story and had no problem with Vincent’s narrative skills but with this being a sequel I feel the producers should have made sure she was aware that one of the characters is actually a proud Scottish woman and doesn’t have an upper class English accent as she’s been given in this book of the series. The character doesn’t play a big part in this story but I don’t feel that’s an excuse to forget about a big characteristic of hers.
