About this listen
I rescued her because I had to. I fell in love with her because she gave me no choice.
Roman Costas: Powerful. Intensely private. Cold. Dangerous.
When he unwittingly puts an innocent woman in danger, he does something he never planned. Becomes involved. He didn’t anticipate the feelings Effie Warner brought out in him. He didn’t expect the woman he rescued to become his world. All he knows is that he’ll burn down the city to keep her safe. No matter the consequences.
The suspenseful finale in Men of the Falls duet by New York Times Bestselling author Melanie Moreland.

I LOVED THIS BOOK SO MUCH!
This book was phenomenal and I loved every minute of it! Effie and Roman were so perfect for each other. These opposites were the definition of soulmates and I could not get enough of these two. I was captivated from the first page and the twists and turns kept me hooked!
John Lane and Maxine Mitchell were perfect in this book and I loved their performances so much! I thoroughly enjoyed listening to them bring Effie and Roman to life!
I highly recommend Roman and Aldo (the first book in the Men of the Falls duet) to lovers of mafia romance who love ruthless, mafia men who give off “touch her and dye” vibes and would do anything for their women.

Protector protecting
Absolutely fabulous performance from John Lane & Maxine Mitchell bring Melanie Moreland's words to life as only they can.
Roman is the second in Melanie Moreland Men of the Falls duet a Canadian underworld protector romance set in Niagara Falls.
Roman Costas didn't want to be his father's son. When his mum died, his choice was taken from him. When his dad dies leaving his empire to Roman, he is able to regain his life. Reducing the morally grey aspects & building the legitimate activities. It is ironically the less savoury parts of his business are ultimately and roundaboutly what leads him to Effie.
There is no aspect of Effie's life that would have led her into Roman's world until he walked into her diner following an unpalatable interaction with her rotten sister. With her life at risk, Roman's strong moral compass forces him to protect her with every tool in his arsenal.
With Effie under Roman's protection, our reticent hero is acting in ways that are so unorthodox for him. Believing himself incapable of love following his father's actions, Roman interprets his actions as guilt.
I love Roman he's such a strong, powerful man, but he has such little understanding of his own emotions. It was so sad to see him obviously in love with Effie for so long but not grasping what he was feeling.
I'm not normally a fan of mafia type stories, but Melanie's are different. She writes them in a much less sensational manner it's about the people & their relationships, the violence isn't glorified or romantised.
I was totally hooked on every second of this story, the twists, the turns, the action, the romance & the angst. It was all just prefect.
Melanie's Canadian grey at its absolute finest.

I loved this duet!!!
I loved this duet!!
I was so excited to get into Romans story after finishing Aldo.
Roman is someone who believes he can never love its just not in him too until Effie.
Effie is so innocent and just living her life until her sister, who is the worst type of person, betrays her.
Roman and Effie love story was beautiful the way he looked after her and was so protective and made sure she felt loved. I loved them so much.
Marianne is vile and gets what she deserves.
Maxine Mitchell and John Lane are perfection in this audiobook and were so perfectly cast.

A must read!...or listen!
I'm fairly sure the saying goes 'oh how the mighty fall' and that would absolutely right for Roman Costas.
A one and done man normally, finds it pretty much impossible to stay away from the lovely Effie.
It is just so smugly entertaining to 'see' this morally grey MMC unravel in the arms of the beautiful Effie.
I loved every minute of seeing Roman brought reverently to his knees.
