About this listen

Robert Burns loved a good night out!

This book looks at 12 of his works that were inspired by food, drink, and generally having a good time. Each poem has a modern translation and some facts on when, where, and sometimes why they were written. This gives you quick, easy to understand information about the poems and Robert Burns himself.

The poems include "Address to a Haggis", "Scotch Drink", "Tam O' Shanter", and "John Barleycorn Must Die".

One of the biggest problems with following Burns poetry is the language he used, specifically the scots words and dialects, which can be difficult to understand. This is why there is a full modern English translation of each poem directly after the original poem. There is also an extensive glossary of Scots words and their modern English equivalent included.

This is the third book in the Enjoying Robert Burns series.
