The business of murder

This is another murder mystery by this author that you will find yourself smiling over. I love the visits to pets and paws, although you have to wonder what is happening with the owner, it's a nice break from the mystery and usually leads to a few clues. This is different from the usual cosy mystery in the fact that the main character does most of her investigating on the internet before passing the information onto the police for them to question the suspects and you only learn what was said after the fact, while they are discussing it. That's not to say she doesn't find herself in trouble or receiving the wrong sort of attention. It's a nice mix of mystery and home life drama.
Maddie heads to a dance committee meeting only to discover a dead body in the parking lot. The dead man has no connection to the school and Sheridan can't help but wonder why he was there? As the police investigation they discover more and more motives why somebody would want him dead and even though Sheridan is determined to stay out of it, the killer thinks she is involved. She she help them narrow down the suspect list?
I like the narrator for the series. It's always easy to tell which character is talking.

More please

Another high quality cozy mystery in this series. When Maddy finds a body in the car park of the country club Sheridan is dragged into another mystery. Strong story, well written with great characters, The culprit was a little obvious but that did not affect my enjoyment. Narration is excellent. I hope there are more of these coming.

Well written and narrated cosy story

I do love a listen to a Christa Nardi book I can just relax into it and let it wash over me. It does also help that the narration is also brilliant and so suits the story. I liked how the crime unfolded, but boy are there are a lot of them in this area. There were a few interesting touches which I dont want to mention due to spoilers but I thought wow that was interesting, I would never have thought of that.
I like how they are bringing in the daughter growing up and the father's reactions to it - I am just seeing my husband in that.

All in all a great listen.

Deliciously twisty.

A deliciously twisty mystery with wonderful characters and lively action. The characters are vividly brought to life by Alyssa Bauman’s narration.

A review copy of this book was sent to me by the author. All of the above opinions are my own.
