About this listen
With her previous best sellers, Dr. Brené Brown helped us realize that vulnerability is the birthplace for trust, belonging, joy, creativity, and love. Yet a willingness to be vulnerable means accepting that life will sometimes knock us down. Where do we find the strength to get back up? In her research for her breakthrough book Rising Strong, Brené discovered a key factor. "Without exception," she says, "the concept of spirituality emerged from the data as a critical component of overcoming struggle."
In Rising Strong as a Spiritual Practice, Brené offers an in-depth exploration of this critical and oft-misunderstood aspect of wholehearted living. Here she defines spirituality as something not reliant on religion, theology, or dogma - rather, it is a belief in our interconnectedness and in a loving force greater than ourselves. Whether you access the sacred through traditional worship, solitary meditation, communion with nature, or creative pursuits, one thing is clear: Rising strong after falling is a spiritual practice that brings a sense of perspective, meaning, and purpose to our lives.

Hilarious! A Lecture not an Audiobook
I love Brene Brown. There is always something to learn from her books, or lectures in this case. This 'book' is about understanding spiritual practice, but not about religion, but about the benefits of being connected to others through spiritual practice and much, much more. This is actually a lecture about the book, but the lecture is given by Brene Brown and there are so many laugh out loud, side- splitting moments. One of the things that she believes in and I consider does exceptionally well, is to tell stories. They more than illustrate a point, as the stories are often about vulnerability, truth, compassion or some other quality in action..
Fascinating, thought-provoking and full of interesting life-lessons, the only reason this did not get 5 stars is because I consider the question and answer session at the end to be too long.
Very enjoyable!

Amazing!
I got so much from this and that includes laughter too! How can gaining so much be such fun? I did need to slow the soles down as Brene talks fast but that’s my thing not hers. Just a heads up for others. So many aha moments. The Peace Be With You had me covered in goose bumps. Incredibly honest. Deep. Empowering and wonderful. I’m coming back to this again soon. Please do give this a listen. You won’t regret a moment.

Amazing common sense 💞
I love brene, i love her realness, her attitude, her strength and her beliefs. I love her faith and love for her family and her stories of family that show a real s.f.d -shitty first draft - solution so we get it. my biggest learning is that we are all run by emotions in an sfd situation and that logic, reasoning, awareness and all the other smarts are locked in the trunk in other words the 5 year old is loose - and thats a good thing because its real and recognising thats helps push you through and understand the rumble of whats really going on instead of thinking the sky is falling. loved it.
