Summary
Accountant and financial advisor Lacey Chamberlain doesn't consider herself a control freak. She's merely a planner-orderly, neat, and content in her tidy little life. When a marketing firm moves into the empty office next door, the loud-music-playing, stinky-food-ordering, kickball-in-the-hall staff make Lacey crazy.
Marketing expert Alicia Wright is spontaneous, flies by the seat of her pants, and lives in the moment-all the things Lacey is not. She's also gorgeous, thoughtful, and seems determined to make Lacey like her.
They say opposites attract, but for how long? And is that really a good idea?

So disappointed!
I loved this story in book form, so much that I’d been really looking forward to listening to the narration.
☹️ Told in the first person, the narrator is fine until she begins to speak for each character. Our heroine suddenly acquires a deep, gruff voice, her love interest is a high and girly and it seems every character of note has his/her own slightly extreme modulation as if to attempt to stand out.
I gave up about a third of the way through, having realised I was just irritated and not enjoying it at all. Such a shame.
I do know reviews are subjective and others may find this narration good entertainment. What I will say is I found the speed a little slow so upped it one notch, which helped a lot.

the narrator is practically singing
ok so I love this book. I thought, as I hadn't read it in a while, I'd get it as an audio book. I gave up at about chapter 7. The narrator has such a sing song voice which is so irritating. if someone spoke like this in real life you'd assume they'd lost the plot. She is also incredibly ssslllooowwww! I know you can speed up the narration but that just made her sound like a hyperactive chipmunk.
