Summary
The Revolutionary Heart package includes all three books in the series.
Love’s Magic: Four men who have each suffered assault in their own way come together in love and friendship to find the healing which they could not find alone.
David and Nate: Could they move past the difference which arise when Nate is attacked? David wants safety and security. Nate wants to fight! Both are right. But will being right mean being happy?
Colin and Josh – A tough Irish cop whose wounded heart rejects the possibility of love and intimacy meets a quiet, Jewish psychologist who burns through Colin’s barriers like a wildfire.
Will love’s magic heal these four revolutionary hearts?
Love’s Trials: Take one tough, alpha-male, Irish cop. Add a debilitating injury that immobilizes him for months, excruciating pain as he endures physical therapy to try to regain his mobility, and a lover who he adores but can no longer protect. And you get a situation which tries the souls of two men who are deeply in love but who struggle daily to move past the pain and emotional distress which is driving them apart.
Love’s Glory: In Love’s Glory, Colin and Joshua face their future side by side, determined to stand or fall together, as soul mates and lovers. This book follows them on their journey as they move toward the happy future they both long to share. Colin and his beloved Joshua have left their trials behind and now revel in love’s glory.

A very hard won HEA
I work at a university, so the first novel was right up my alley. I have served on/chaired our Behavioral Standards Committee, so I know about the dynamic between for example Joshua's view which has to look at both students involved and decisons of responsible versus not responsible and preponderance of the evidence versus the police/criminal justice approach of crime and guilty/not guilty. Very complicated issues to mix into a relationship and this was extremely well plotted by the author. I also understand the complications of Nate wanting to stand up and be vocal, the university administration having to consider recruitment, public relations, student safety, parental concerns and David wanting to do the right thing but also having to consider the impact of any decisions on his future tenure prospects. Not to even begin to mention what happens when a person you love is injured and your fears for their safety. The author has done an excellent job of taking important and current topics, mixing in all the university aspects and then having to make us care deeply about the characters and find their romances hot. A job not to be taken on lightly and handled deftly here. You will enjoy it if you know about university life and will learn things if you don't. The narrator was good but I found I could not listen and do anything else as I usually do with audiobooks, particularly early on in the story. For some reason I had to just stop and listen or the words weren't clear. That became less of an issue as I listened more and I would certainly listen to other books with this narrator.
I was very happy to get more time with Joshua, Colin, Nate and David in the second book. Just as the author had clearly done her homework in the first book of the series to get the university life right, Jarrell has clearly done the homework here to get the details right about the emotional upheavals that occur after a devastating injury. Colin's and Joshua's reactions are complicated, understandable, irritating and hearbreaking all at once. You will at various times love and hate both of them because just as in book one, you completely buy them as real people and what they are dealing with is never black and white, but always shades of grey. I was so happy at the ending! The hard times aren't over, but I am extremely hopeful that the final book will give us an HEA that is well deserved and very hard earned. I also loved seeing Nate and David again, learning how their relationship has developed and watching them support and love Colin and Joshua. The narrator is rather problematic for me. He requires my sustained attention to catch all the words and I would have like more variation in tone and affect than I got here.
The third book brought Joshua and Colin to their final HEA and it was so satisfying. The author didn't rush, but took the time necessary to make the hard work of staying together and reaching a good place believable. Well worth the time it took to get to know these characters over all three books. By the end of this book, I was happier with the narrator, understood things much easier and felt he captured the emotions much better.

Walker Williams is a new favorite narrator!
I fell in love with Walker Williams’s voice when I listened to Love’s Magic when it was first released as an audiobook back in June 2019. I was so happy to receive a review copy of Revolutionary Heart which contains all three books in this series. His voice is perfect for the books in this series and I loved listening to him.
Love’s Magic is a complicated story about two separate couples (David and Nate and Colin and Josh) finding their HEAs. I don’t know how Janice Jarrell managed to pull off such a complicated story but she did and I thought it was fabulous.
Love’s Trials is book two and it follows Colin and Josh. I was totally enthralled by this story while listening to Walker’s performance. There are many tough times for Colin and Josh, and I shed more than a few tears, but it all works out in the end.
Love’s Glory is book three and continues Colin and Josh’s love story. It’s about Colin’s recovery from a devastating injury. I don't think it's a spoiler to say that Colin gets to show Josh his beloved Ireland and that was one of my favorite parts.
There was just so much to love about this book. As with the others in this series, it brought out a lot of different emotions – my favorite kind of book. Janice Jarrell has created a world with characters I will be happy to visit again and again and again…
A complimentary copy of this audiobook was provided to me but my review was voluntary and not influenced by the author and/or narrator.
