Another enjoyable tale.

Packed full of historical detail, superb. Familiar characters return in a bitter sweet story which reflects modern issues in the context of Fidelma's world. The historical detail is clearly well researched and informative. One of the best in the series.

The understanding of Celtic History

I like the fact that the fiction is interwoven with the historical knowledge of the author.

A series which is becoming a little tired

I've greatly enjoyed the Sister Fidelma series overall and learned a lot about Ireland in the 7th century. But the characters are increasingly predictable and some of the stories dwell too much on matters of dogma and theology. This isn't one of my favourites.
