Summary

NOW A SUNDAY TIMES BESTSELLER!

THE EPIC NEW EAGLES OF THE EMPIRE NOVEL FROM BESTSELLING AUTHOR SIMON SCARROW - THE PERFECT BOOK FOR THE SEASON OF ROME!

ROME AND BOUDICA. A DUEL TO THE DEATH.

AD 61. Britannia is divided.

The rebel horde has been defeated. But the leader, Boudica, and her remaining warriors are still at large. With them is the eagle standard of the Ninth Legion, taken in ambush, flaunted as proof that Rome can yet be beaten.

The embers of rebellion are still glowing . . .

The toll has been heavy, with countless men lost, and major towns in ruins. The bodies of the dead are strewn across the streets. And for Centurion Macro, there is the scarring knowledge that his mother perished in the attack on Londinium.

As Macro's heart burns for revenge, he and his comrade-in-arms Prefect Cato are tasked with hunting down the remnants of the enemy army. There can be no peace until the queen is captured or killed. And Roman honour will only be restored when the eagle standard has been recovered.

IF YOU DON'T KNOW SIMON SCARROW, YOU DON'T KNOW ROME!

Revenge of Rome

I like a good story, I am afraid that this story meets my criteria. The author has obviously spent many hours of research. I have listened to the the previous volumes, and this is the completion of the story, so far. Thank you. Patrick Speaight

Just Wonderful

I love this series. And this didn’t disappoint . Such a clever writer, even clever as we all know the ending.. about Budica.. but I couldn’t stop listening.. very exciting and as usual brilliantly read by Jonathan Keeble. I would say a MUST listen . Enjoy!

how Boudica should have died

Another brilliantly written story by Simon Scarrow and just as brilliantly acted and narrated by Mr Keeble, I hope the story of Cato & Macro isn't concluded yet. The story led to what I consider a fitting conclusion to Boudica's rebellion and her end, much more fitting than the end history has concluded for her. The story was well paced with the battle scenes written and enacted and described so as to bring them alive in my mind, I can only say brilliant bring on the next instalment, I HOPE.

The whole story from start to finish with exhilarating and enjoyable

There was nothing at all. It could be disappointing about the return of our two heroes.

Another Fine Adventure For The Duo

Scarrow has again given us a goodd thoughtful story with his excellent battle scenes.
Jonathan Kebble gives his usual top notch performance and really does make our heroes, their families , enemies and all come to life.

This might be the last for the boys but I shall keep and eye out for the chance of another in this most enjoyable series.

Another Stop Gap listen.

The story was OK. I've read or listened to each of the books in the series and have found the last two or three have just been a stop gap until Vespasian comes back into Cato's world.
