About this listen

Good book. Great contunuation
First of all, this was a decent book. narrator was good. I've never heard him outside these books, but he does well with the main characters voice and personality. the women's voices could be better or more varied but a great performance overall.
story wise, this is where I have an issue. this audiobook is only 7ish hours long. that's not a lot of what I consider a small book. yet despite this length, no small amount of time is spent on a child's advances on the main character. he actually talks about the issue in his head EVERY single time the conversation heads in that direction, which is many MANY times. I don't like this character. without spoiling anything, I'll just say she has a complex background and spends the entire book as a one-dimensional character.
the other thing I feel the need to point out is that coming from the previous 2 books, these guys are going on vacation or whatever. I can definitely say that this book is 70% filler content, this book is half "beach episode" levels of filler the 3 or so chapters of story happen before and after the vacation and everything feels like a waste of time.
saying all that I do want to assure anyone who reads this that I do actually like the book. I just like some story with my audiobook that is literally a story conveyed through narration. if you're here after books 1 and 2, then get it. it's a good continuation. but don't expect much plot. the plot only moves because the "bad luck" the characters talk about having is the writers lazy way of explaining why things keep happening to them.
