Summary

Sasha.

He's dark and mysterious. Quiet and lethal.

An Irish mobster.

Pure sin wrapped up in a beautiful package.

But there's also something off about him.

He doesn't feel anything. He shows no emotions.

Sometimes, I question his humanity.

He hasn't spoken to me in two years. Not a single word.

But we share a secret, he and I.

And if it ever comes out, I have no doubt in my mind....

He won't have a problem killing me, too.

Ronan.

I've slain for her. I'll do it again.

When it comes to Sasha, there isn't a line I won't cross.

I watch her. She doesn't know it.

She thinks I hate her. Sometimes, I think I might, too.

But I'm always there, lurking in the shadows.

Craving her. Trying to keep the beast within at bay.

I'll keep her safe. I'll slaughter anyone who tries to hurt her.

The only thing I can't do...is protect her from myself.

This is a full-length standalone novel full of hot Irish guys with accents. Dark mafia themes throughout. HEA included.

I’m loving this series, perfect for audible

Oh my. I’m loving the Boston Underworld series sooooo much. So so much. Violent, gritty and dark, with addictive action packed storylines . My heart went out to both Ronan and Sasha, two completely lost souls. Ronan especially is so innocent and pure, even though he is one of the most violent men in the Irish mafia, he has so many insecurities my heart went out to him his devotion to Sasha made my heart go pitter patter. When it comes to romance Ronan is so sweet and loveable. Sasha is just the perfect match for him, the way she stands up for him and protects him in much the same way that Ronan does for her. The writing is dual POV (narrated brilliantly by Tracy Marks) and each of Ronan’s chapters start with an insight in to his very upsetting past. Not a pretty story and definitely not for the faint hearted. I’m loving this series on audible.

Tracy Marks rocks

Good if slightly disturbing story. Makes a nice change to read something in the Genre that is written well.

A Must Listen/ Read Mafia Romance

Where to start... well this is one of my all time top favourite books. The whole Boston Underworld series is just fantastic and I would urge anyone who enjoys contemporary or mafia romances to try these books.

Why do I love this book? Well it has everything that I enjoy. A flawed hero, a broken heroine, and a complete mafia world. There is magnetism, chemistry and emotion between these two characters (Ronan and Sasha), plus many other secondary characters that appear throughout this book (and the other books), that weave their own stories within this story and which makes this such an incredible read.

I have read this book many, many times and I never get tired of it. And I can't imagine I ever will. This time I purchased the audio version and loved it!!!

I can't recommend this book highly enough.

Swoon-worthy

I so wanted Sasha and Ronan story when I first read Crow, but I wasn't expecting it to be like this, it was so much more than I expected. Ronan completely disarmed me, and won me over, I didn't though he was going to be able to take Crow's place in my heart, which he did. I'm still swooning over him. The book was amazing, the storyline, the pace of it,  and the characters.

My heart broke so much for all that Ronan had to endure being just a child, it was so awful, but it helps you understand why is he the way he is now. He is so reserved, so closed, and for him it's so hard to show any emotions because he just doesn't know how to, it's something foreign for him, and he's so confused about how to act around her because he thinks he doesn't deserve her, and is so painful and heartbreaking. One of the things I liked is the relation between Mack and Ronan, because even though he says he doesn't like her, he does, and he even confides in her.
Sasha is another broken soul, she has also endured so many things, has done many things for her mother and sister and has had to be strong. I love how she is with Ronan, how she tries to understand him and how little by little starts penetrating Ronan's armor.

As for the narrattion, Tracy Marks again delivers a perfect narrattion, with her different voices and accents for each one of them. She is truly fantastic, and I'm glad she gets to narrates all of the other books in this series, because she does a wonderful job and I can't imagine no one else doing them

Characters with depth and flaws

I really enjoyed learning about Ronan and Sasha. This is the second book Zavarelli has surprised me with her characters; Ronan is a man with very autistic like qualities. It is shown through out the book that it is due to his childhood, however being the strong, dominant alpha male lover I was surprised to realised this man was a complete turn on! There was a very childlike quality to some of their interactions which is at a complete juxtaposition to his murderous tendencies.

Again, the plot was strong and I learned more about the syndicate. I enjoyed reading about Mac and Loch from the previous book and can not wait to read book three!

same narrator for whole series

I listened to these out of sequence, but really enjoyed them nonetheless, my only gripe which is why I scored this story lower is the narrator is the same throughout this series and if you listen to them in succession it lessens the impact of connecting with the story. so much so that I can't on reflection tell one story from another.
Great story and I really wanted to hear Reapers version.
