About this listen

A Suspicious Boyfriend Can Really Cramp a Grim Reaper’s Style

Tessa's finally getting the hang of her career as a grim reaper. She’s returned home from the reaper conference feeling confident in all things job-related. She even has a new special ability - the power of the scythe.

What she isn't so confident about is her budding relationship with Silas St. Onge. He's onto her secret double life, and Tessa can't decide whether to keep putting him off or come clean with the truth.

Before she can make a choice, Silas takes matters into his own hands and follows her out on a reap. Now, he's got the wrong idea about what she does for a living. Plus, he picked the exact worst reap to spy on because the guy's spirit lets on that he didn't die of natural causes.

Now, Silas is the main suspect.

Can Tessa clear his name while keeping up with the growing pile of bodies? Can she adjust to her new boss’s mentoring style? Or will she lose her job, her new love, and maybe even her own soul? Find out! Buy Reap What She Sows today!

Just gets better and better

I loved this book. With so many cozy mysteries out there it is nice to have one that is so totally different, I love the fact that a grim reaper is investigating murders. The mystery is interesting, there isn't that many suspects but it is the characters themselves that make the story such a fun listen and the reason you can listen to the book again and again. This is book three in this entertaining series but don't worry, each book is a standalone mystery and it is just her love life that progresses or gets more complicated with each adventure. I would actually recommend that it you like a good cozy paranormal mystery with a touch of humour and romance then you start from the very beginning and enjoy.
Tessa is finding it harder and harder to keep what she does for a living a secret from her boyfriend. He isn't buying the lies she keeps telling him, which explains why after helping a soul move on she turns around to find Silas. The problem is the man she just helped was murdered and Silas was caught running away from the crime scene. Getting her boyfriend arrested for murder isn't a great way to start a relationship, so can Tessa clear his name? At the same time her mother is promoted and her best friend has just become her boss. Are things about to get complicated between them or can she still count on her friend to help her catch a killer? Even if it means breaking the rules?
I liked the narrator for this book. I have heard her read other books and always thought she sounded a bit whiney but that is not the case with this story and I thought she added to the enjoyment.
